Crowded House singles are very rare... & I mean VERY rare, even in Australia. I take it you bought it from Australia (?). In a second hand store (?). Was it the CD single (?). Or the 7" single (?). I can't tell you how much it's worth, but to true fans, it will always be worth a lot more.
As to what it's worth, well I would have happily payed $500 for a copy a few years ago, but none were ever offered to me for sale. It would be interesting to see how much it would go for on ebay, then you might get some idea of it's worth. As far as I know a copy has never been put on.
Pertaining to it's apparent scarcity, I've spoken to many record dealers here in Sydney and elsewhere and come across only two who've had a copy, each only ever owning one copy. One of the dealers sold their copy at a record fair for the same price I paid for mine (he'd bought it that same day for $75) and the other copy was bought by me.
The I Feel Posessed single also has CH and Roger McGuinn perfoming "Mr. Tambourine Man", "Eight Miles High", and "So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star".
I have a Neil Finn promo Cd for the One Nil cd and it has two CH songs and one from Try Whistling This.
Better Be Home Soon made it to #2 so quite a few copies of that exist. However even with BBHS stock sold out completely when it was exiting the top 50 (which is why it appeared as the B-side of When You Come in Aust.)
Most sales of When You Come were vinyl (cassette & CD single would be about 15%). So it is harder to find compared to vinyl. It's around $25-$50 depending on condition. I've seen it for $85 at collectors fairs. Ebay you may get lower price depending how many are trying to buy it.

Always wondered why they did that. And now I know...
Did this get a UK/EU release, too?
I have Into Temptation Euro CD,
BBHS UK CD and the Euro and US I Feel Possessed ones.
I always thought BBHS was a poor first single although it did well in Australasia and Canada. Perhaps When You Come wasn't given first single status because it was risque. Only Aus release I think which was a shame and live it's awesome.
I think it depended where you lived, radio at the time, etc.
For Australia, BBHS perfect choice, their biggest single here, Gold status and really set TEMPLE up to be massive. It still receives loads of airplay, heard it yesterday at the general store picking up the mail. #42 in the USA (that's from memory & mine is a bit rusty).
Plus I think it had been in the set for a small while before release so fans from those days knew it. The club seemed to be mailing out those cool glossy BBHS postcards for years! Plus the BBHS house shaped keyrings were fun.
NZ also had When You Come but it was a a bonus in a double pack with Into Temptation. (Made it to #38 on NZ chart).
Picking up on this thread again, 9 years later!! I am still looking for this very elusive CD single. I have seen it appear just once, quite recently actually. It popped up on Discogs, for about A$50.00, and got snapped up. Unfortunately, I saw my alert notification a little bit late.
Anyway, does aaaanyone have this? Willing to purchase, or have lots to swap.
Also still looking for this single both on CD and cassette.
I do have the CD single but wasn’t planning on selling but feel free to PM me - I might part for a tempting offer or trade for something I don’t have but I have a pretty exhaustive collection!
Quite a coincidence: I just purchased the “When You Come” cassette single 😊.
Oooh nice! Can I ask where, and how much?
It was $15 AUS and on Discogs.com.
Good score, some cassette singles are creeping up in price, and that is one of them probably. A nice item to have in the collection.
