Uh...heh, heh...yeah, I'm listening to Barry Manilow do "White Christmas" right now-my sister's watching her Clay Aiken Christmas DVD, and he was one of the guests.

Right now Dirty Vegas. Love that guy's voice, Steve Smith's sexy drool. Electronic music it is... but so cool. because they mix the sex with the ice. Dirty Vegas has to be best all time name for a band.

Only Talking Sense and Last Day of June - Finn Brothers
I recently rediscovered how beautiful these tracks are...I love them. Best two tracks off Finn, I think, along with Paradise, Suffer Never and Angels Heap.

right now am at work and am listening to a terrific CD called "Sounds Eclectic" issued by KCRW, a public radio station in Los Angeles. all the songs on it were performed acoustically in-studio by various artists. it includes Neil singing a lovely version of Throw Your Arms Around Me. the KCRW website (kcrw.org) has lots of in-studios archived. I recently found one from a couple of years ago that includes Neil performing an absolutely beautiful cover of Dave Dobbyn's Whaling. I have been listening to that one each day since I found it - it's good for the soul!
last night at home I was listening to Elliott Smith's XO album. I think Waltz #2 is an amazing song.

"Between the Wars" by Billy Bragg.
Aussie artist Missy Higgins (who recently supported the Neil and Tim) cover version of the Skyhooks' 'You Only Like Me Cos I'm Good in Bed'. Its brilliant
Right now Ray LaMontagne's new album called "Trouble". Good stuff, although it was hard to find in Atlanta. You can listen to the title track and a couple others here - http://www.raylamontagne.com/listen.php
Also listening to one of my closest friends from Philly, and his band (Miralles) who just released their 2nd cd called "Climb". If you want to hear some of it and/or buy a copy, check out this site - http://cdbaby.com/cd/miralles2
Their first cd is good too, and is here http://cdbaby.com/cd/miralles That one is also available on iTunes (under Miralles). I imagine the 2nd cd will be available on iTunes shortly as well.
Enjoy!

Well, after hearing the latest song on the radio from Jet ("Look at What You've Done"), which I thought was brilliant, I've decided to give "Get Born" another chance.
Off to Rhapsody to look it up . . .

"Look What You've Done" is a good song. Very Beatles-esque.
I don't have that album myself, but I don't mind the few songs I've heard off it-I particularly like "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?".
Anywho, listening to "One Of These Things First" by Nick Drake.

I just listened to all of "Try Whistling This" in a good old fashioned beginning to end fashion. So much of what I hear these days seems to be on "shuffle" it was nice to get the whole package and groove going. Still Neil's best, methinks.

Listening to "Pure" by the Lightning Seeds. Every time I hear this song I always think of "When You Come"-it sounds very similar to that one, in my opinion. Not that that's a bad thing-I like both songs .

Joseph Arthur - 'Redemption's Son'
I bought this a couple of years ago when it came out, but for some reason never gave it a proper listen, even though I loved what I'd heard from him previously.
Some amazing stuff on here.
I bought his latest this week, and have yet to listen to it...but I've read great things about it and am quite looking forward to it.

Yeah, it's a great song. I listened to another song of theirs today that I'd put on a mix CD recently..."The Other Side Of Life". That's a really cool one, too-love the music in that one. That seems to be a frequent thing with the Moody Blues, at least from all the songs I've heard by them thus far-they always have some really neat, pretty music in their songs. I like that .quote:Originally posted by Brian Wilson is God.:
