I don't know who did the mastering. Bob Clearmountain is a master mixer, rather than a mixed-up masterer.
LOL & Agree!

I know some people feel intimidated by the jargon and technical side and worry they're somehow "wrong" or "stupid". It's a shame because no-one's taste is "wrong" and no-one should feel ashamed asking questions. But if you don't feel confident discussing this stuff PM me and we'll chat offline. I can send you some files you can compare etc.
Thank you Paul your reply .
You've sort of got it right I have very little time to actually sit down and listen to the music I love uninterrupted but I'll try some of the things you suggest and if I need anymore help I'll PM you.

I was intending to hold off on buying this till I got more live tracks from Kufula....BUT have just noticed that it contains a REMASTERED Recurring Dream! So added to the collection sooner than expected
They're just saying it's the "remastered" version from Afterglow. It actually says "1999 Remastered Version" so it isn't anything new. Sorry to disappoint, but that's pretty much what this collection excels at.
Run on sentences fully intended.
Anyway, my thougths so far: Interesting that the first few songs are the poppier pop songs. I've only actually listened up to the end of song 5 so far.....just the drive home. I actually have been enjoying the cover art with all its visual references to Crowdie lyrics. Has anyone else looked at the newspaper with a magnifying glass?

Hands up those who think this "Very Very Best Of" Could have had the very very best thrown at it & that it should have also been released on DVD-A
I'll never understand record companies.
P.s. Better be home soon from the Arias sounds absolutley fine to me.
Years ago, I took my CH songs and put them in this mix order for a playlist. Revisiting this, it's a very refreshing, two-hour sequence. Perfect for getting work done and enjoying the ride.
