She was indeed, and was the mother of all living things and the owner of all the waters and a protector of children according to some mythology

Cripes, I find it hard enough being the mother of 2 teenagers so I certainly wouldn't want to be the mother to all living things, that belongs in the too hard basket thanks!! Wink

I'm Merujo in other places online, and I have started answer to it in real life. There are some of my online friends who only know me by that name. It's just the first two letters of my first, middle, and last name, squished together. Of course, I didn't know it was an actual Portuguese name when I chose it. I occasionally get e-mail from Portugal - people think they've found a countryman, when, in fact, they've just found some fat, middle-aged American chick. Smiler

That's a cute process! I'd be heroki, which sounds very Japanese of course, but to be really egocentric, I could just call myself hero.

I. Am. Hero.

I like it. Smiler I just don't look heroic Frowner.

True heroes never do, hk!

Mine would be Sumabu.... nah. Sounds too much like a sushi roll to me! Smiler
Hmmm, well if I go back to my maiden name (as yet undecided) I would be Anmaca.

I envision someone, Portuguese, shaking their fist at some seriously annoying person, drawing out that last syllable: anmacaaaaaaaa!!!!!

Anyway, Aselrovede your name totally rocks.
I think mine was my email addie way back in the day. I started out as agt_iris (which, don't laugh, was my webTV login) but when I finally got a real computer circa 1999 or so, I wanted to use my favorite CH song, and I think it was taken with the correct spelling. On every other forum, etc, I go by samorama but for old time's sake I kept distnsun here.

Gosh, I think it behooves you to do so! Plus I'd buy you a drink if you did.

BTW, congrats on getting the radio show. Does it stream online?
No story really! I like to use Cap'n Avatar as my default avatar any time I sign on to a forum. Sometimes I change to something else later, sometimes I go back.

That distressed-looking individual is a MS Paint self-portrait I did a few days ago. It just captured a certain mood.
Funny I was just thinking the same thing. I might have captured my mood a little TOO accurately.

Is there a thread for discussing Avatars? I always see one I want to discuss and there's no place for it that I can see. Could somebody just start one?

EDIT: How's that - better? I turned the howling frown upside down.

Only Greatfox knows for sure! I was just horning in on his or her action.

Hey, what's wrong with my guy now? I made him happy instead of anguished.
mr sadly 'whoops' and i say: oops! i thought you were offering 20 points for correct guesses on your captain pic (not greatfox's) Red Face l0l.

i remember reading something about you thinking of the name 'mr sadly' for an old girlfriend and a gender issue w/ the name so you adopted it instead....

i'm ever so pleased Big Grin that you changed back though!
ok - gonna join in the fun!

Kilidotu!

Could be a mountain somewhere in Africa, or perhaps a small fujian village! Or a High Priestess!

Oh yes, I like that one! High Priestess Kilidotu!

Visions of grandeur? Moi? Never!!! Big Grin Wink

"Ah yes," the great explorer said, filling his pipe with sweet tobacco. "I remember quite well the first time I climbed Mount Kilidotu! Please, come take an armchair by the fire, and I shall regale you with that exciting tale!"

Wink

Sorry - couldn't resist. It *is* a great mountain name!

Merujo
And..Treegrrl...why do you now have a picture of a rhino? Which incidentally says "picture of Treegrrl"! Not very flattering! I've met you and you look nothing like a rhino!

Seriously!

I preferred the Dr Seuss-type thing you had before! What's going on? Has everyone gone mad? First Mr Sadly and now you! I can't cope!

As High Priestess of this forum I demand that everyone keep their pictures as they were! Or I shall send forth a rain of toads upon the land and force the world to listen to supermarket muzak for eternity!

Heed my words! Or on your own heads be it!

Carried away, much?

And thus did Kilidotu summon the forces of nature to her hands. Lo, the earth did shake and the people were afraid of her power! "Behold my mighty wrath!" did Kilidotu, the priestess high, cry from her temple. "I shall sweep the English countryside with wind and rain and fire -- oooh, wait -- Crowded House is on tour?!?" And so then came a gentle rain.

Wink

Merujo
Aaah...Merujo! You have pleased me well! I shall hold you in regard for your love and respect for my power that is greater than the universe!

Fear not, lesser being, for the gatherings of people who shall come to bear witness to the greatness that is Neil Finn shall remain safe from harm and within the protection of the High Priestess Kilidotu! For he is my champion, and so shall be thine! He shall rule the world under my command and in my name; all shall shout it on high from the forests and arenas - KILIDOTU! And, lo, happiness shall be mine and I shall command the sun to shine on all the people so assembled!

For it is known - CROWDED HOUSE ROCK!

The reason for my user name is I have no creative flair.
Different friends have called me pc,pezza,or pez I think pezza was taken on this forum??? so pez it was. Pretty Boring huh

oh and if I used my first middle and last name it would be Petrca

Perri
Well, Dancing Girl didn't exactly use up a whole lot of brain power!

Am really starting to like the whole High Priestess Kilidotu thing, though! Should I change it, I wonder... nah, will only be High Priestess in my own mind, whereas the world will know me as the Dancing Girl!

Does anyone else look at these new names and wonder what the actual first, middle and last names are?

I pity the rhino! Or as Neil sang "God save the rhino", when he attempted my request for As Sure As I Am at the first LA show. Big Grin

It's the theme of the moment. Smiler

The lorax? He'll make a return. I want to know where *your* avatar is, Ms High Priestess? Hmmmmmm???
I picked Sad Claude because it was the first name appearing in a Finn song I thought of. Later I realised that, according to the song, Sad Claude's been sleeping around, but I can assure you that's not true!

One comment on usernames - my wife signed up as Torpedo Baby a few years back. She doesn't post much, just now and then. However then someone else signed up as TorpedoBaby and that username was obviously permitted. It could lead to confusion and I am wondering if anybody else has had a similar problem. For example, if someone signed up as MrSadly I am sure the genuine Mr. Sadly would be somewhat put out. Can this kind of thing be stopped?

Regards,

Mark, er...I mean Sad Claude.
Well, my actual user name is Mister Sadly, but my screen name is Mr. Sadly.

2004 huh? I wonder if that's me?? That was when either me or my gf was originally going to sign up. I'll have to check those old posts.

EDIT: Nope, this MisterSadly is definitely not me. Not claiming to be from Ohio. That's weird though. That was right around when my gf asked me to think up some good Finn-related names to use on a messageboard. I guess it was just something in the air!
Well, hexed is just short for hexzeros, which has been my internet handle since the early 90's and whose origins are just TOO geeky to go into here, but it's nothing to do with witchcraft or feeling cursed or the like! It feels like me, though - funny how when you use the same handle for so long, it starts to feel like a real name! Probably doesn't help that my friends are all nickname freaks, so depending on who's talking to me at the moment I could be one of several different names - La, Lollapalooza, JB, J, Miss J, Your Brother . . .

If I took Merujo's route, I'd be Jeivbe - or Laivbe if I used my certified birth certificate name, which is only used by certain smart-aleck friends and occasionally my mother when, as a small child, I was in big trouble. In either case, I've no idea how to pronounce them!
