Wow, hot on the news of the True Colours anniversary edition, it seems that Demon Records in the UK is going to issue special coloured vinyl LP's of the UK Mental Notes (Second Thoughts down under) and Dizrythmia! Demon Records (whoever they are) must have licensed them off Chrysalis Records.

Oooh. I wonder if this is the 2006 mix?
The ad claims they are "newly remastered", whatever that may mean.
Wow - this is cool. 2020 is going to be a bumper year for Enz related music lovers and collectors. Multiple True Colours vinyl resissues, Mental Notes2 and Dizrythmia vinyl resissues, Finn vinyl release, new Crowded House album and Forenzics (or whatever it will become) album!
I wonder if Eddie and Phil Manzanera did the remastering together on Mental Notes...
Has anybody picked these up yet?? Mine are in transit but could be for a while with the current state of the NZ postal service.
I’ve ordered just two days ago, so I don’t expect them soon.
I see both these releases are now available in NZ, due for release tomorrow. Too bad, I ordered them from the UK, so they could still be weeks away.
Had a listen to Dizrythmia today. Revelatory. Heard all sorts of things for the first time. Beautiful dynamics, No more ear fatigue from the brick walling on the CD. Nice aesthetics for the artwork. No download card unfortunately. Saving Mental Notes for tomorrow.
I notice the new "Mental Notes" is now on US iTunes. No sign of Dizrythmia for now. MN sounding great.
Edit: Dizrythmia is there also.
Wow, catching up on posts from JULY... are these available digitally anywhere other than iTunes? I wish the Enz were on Bandcamp.
I've just played the Mental Notes Album on Vinyl. All songs sound great but one... "Matinee Idyll". It sounds flat and dull. How did they mess this up?
I don't own a record player, but have just noticed that both of these reissues can be streamed on YouTube Music. On Mental Notes, Sweet Dreams repeats on track 6, rather than the listed Stranger Than Fiction.
Would be nice if they could get this right on the streaming platform, considering the effort made to provide a remastered version of this recording!
Speaking of these, have still not found the remixed True Colors on any streaming platform accessible in the US. I have the vinyl and it sounds nice, but would be nice to be able to listen to it other places.
I pointed out years ago that on spotify, on the living enz album that time for a change doesnt work - tracks are out if sync - track doesnt exist - told spotify, posted here for jaffa ... nothing got done. Still doesnt work . Amazing track simply inaccessible.
same as how i wrote here a year or so ago that time on earth deluxe has disappeared from spotify in australia. Told spotify, posted here... still not available.
pretty annoying.
whoever looks after content management for the band/s not really on top of things.
I even went as far as contacting Eddie Rayner and Universal Music UK about several albums being unavailable on streaming services. No reply whatsoever.
fyi: in Europe and the UK the only Split Enz material available are Mental Notes (UK version), Dizrythmia and True Colours plus “Message to my Girl” on some V/A compilation.

I've pointed it out to Spotify and Warner Music on more than one occasion too.
