I reckon we r seeing what liam is bringing to the band ... his contemporaries and friends playing around with his dad’s music to generate some street cred with the cool kids... and thus a new generation of kids will have awareness of the crowdies / finn music story.

personally i dont see the upside in putting neil’s voice thru a vocoder after he’s inhaled helium and had the tape sped up to sound like a chipmunk.

I think its been established over a few years he doesnt have too bad a voice.

It’s a no from me.

Oh come on, that’s a bit narrow.  The idea, I think, is to treat the voice like any other instrument...run it through guitar pedals and mixing plugins, mess with it, make it into something new. That’s what Kevin Parker does with his own stuff so I expected nothing less here. We already have the normal version with clear vocals, anyway.

If people don't like it because they miss Neil's voice, to each their own. I'm just saying, that's a complete misunderstanding of the genre we're in here and not a reasonable expectation when Tame Impala remixes your track. Kind of like complaining that the vocal is missing from a string quartet version of the song...okay, but you were never gonna get that lol
