Tim Finn Live at Caloundra Music Festival- October 2018.

Did anyone else attend? I really enjoyed Tim's set. Here is the setlist- I edited it the best I could, though I feel like I might have missed a song somewhere.

Pretty much what I thought he would cover- plenty of Split Enz, a couple of Woodface and a couple of solo tracks. A 5 piece band- though no keyboards, so some Enz tracks like Poor Boy just lacked that bit of Eddie Rayner magic. A beautiful evening by the beach and a really fun vibe. Dirty Creature has only been solidified as my favourite Enz song.

With such a vast catalogue to pull from, 1 hour simply felt way too short. Unfortunately, he was given the 'last song' warning when he still had 4 left on his planned setlist. Such is the nature of festivals. A few of the headlining acts were given 75 or 90 minutes, so I was mildly offended that Tim was given 60 minutes on the secondary stage. With no intention to belittle the other artists at the festival, Tim has possibly penned more hits than all of them combined. I guess Tim alone does not have the pulling power of Split Enz or Crowded House on paper.

I bought a ticket purely to see Tim, but it turned out to be fun evening as I caught the Screaming Jets and also the back end of the Thirsty Merc and Temper Trap sets.
