I know, I was bidding on it too!!! but then hearing about The Enz tour I had to make a choice betwwen the book and tix Frowner another one has just appeared on ebay with a starting bid of 16pounds, then again that one started at $8 and look what happened Smiler
The Enz tour might reignite a whole lot of interest in anything Enz, so it will probably be worth while watching E-bay.

I purchased my copy of Stranger Than Fiction from E-bay (can't remember how much, but it was a while ago) then not long afterwards another copy was up for grabs which had been signed by Tim and Neil and I think a couple of others. I wanted to bid on it, but I already had my copy so decided to let common sense prevail. It would have been a treasure though Big Grin

Its a great book Big Grin
It is a great book!
I think eBay is the wrong place to buy it, though, it just goes for too much money.
I bought mine by doing an ISBN search on Google and found it in New Zealand through Abebooks.
It only cost me £24 incl. postage to the UK. That's $56! Still a lot of money for a secondhand book, but not as rediculous as $148.
My dog Robbie (God rest his doggy soul) got ahold of my copy in 1995 which I had been reading outdoors...it now has a major ripped cover, doggy teeth marks, and warping. But still 100% readable! Wouldn't expect to get much on eBay for it considering its condition, and actually it's a little reminder of the doggy that I lost at 19 months!

Hang onto it Demon and cherish it, because those sorts of things are special reminders of someone or something much loved. Plus which he's made it a unique edition for you Wink

I didn't pay $148.00 for mine, but I think mine was up around the $70 mark, and I didn't hesitate because I wanted the book Roll Eyes I would have preferred the signed copy; I think that one was in better condition too, at least the blurb read as though it was.

Ebay can be expensive, especially when you find its something that lots of others want to get their grubbies on too. There's always someone with more money and less common sense than you Big Grin That combination generally adds up to mean that you miss out Cool

Still, you only have to pay for it once, and I've been back through mine over and over so it was worth it. Sometimes I just flick through looking at the pictures Cool I've never regretted the outlay.
I'm sitting here quite dumbfounded right now. I just got STF on ebay for $15 US. I had planned on spending A LOT more than that! No one else even bid on it. Where did everyone go? Another copy sold shortly before this one for $63! I kept rereading the item description trying to find the small print that says it's just a photocopy of the book or something. I just don't get it.

I had the same thought, TR. This reunion is going to stir up the nostalgia and these books are going to be hard to get a hold of anywhere for a 'reasonable' price. And then the fact that there are only so many of them to begin with.

Of course, this one's not signed by Tim and Neil or anyone else.Smiler

Finngirl, good choice on the concert tix. Cool

I guess this is my consolation prize for probably never being able to see them live in my lifetime. Boo hoo. And for $15! (I'm still completely perplexed.)
Well done Leanne - I suspect that most people didn't expect another one to be auctioned so soon after the last one - they are usually few and far between.

Enjoy your book - I enjoyed mine - it's well worth it if you can get hold of one.

Hey Leanne,

I saw that one and thought about bidding on it to replace my dog-chewed one; however, I thought it would go high so didn't bother :-) Good for you, and enjoy!
