This VHS release is the real deal. To quote myself from http://www.radionz.co.nz/nr/programmes/enzology/ep06
Split Enz was the first Australasian band to release a full-length home video cassette. “Split Enz Live In Concert” was videotaped in January 1980. The rare Enz song Outer Mongolia was performed but wasn’t included on the video. The Beta and VHS videos are next to impossible to find nowadays.

When can we look forward to the DVD release?

Yes! Mr. Green! Paging Mr. Green!!!!!

ps - we need DVDs that can play in America!

Yeah, I gave up on that one! I just decided last year that it was worth my while to buy a portable multi region DVD player! I got a good deal and it plays everything. I'm so glad I got it because I have a whole library of Enz, CH, Finn stuff that can't be played on American players. In fact, I think I'll go watch the Split Enz DVD now! Big Grin

It is listed in the club Discography. The original price for it was $80.00.And something about one copy being buried in a time capsule in Canberra.

It also comes in a black cardboard cover. Recorded at CH 7 studios in Melbourne
Well it’s the same show as the club ENZ DVD that went out in DEC last year only the club one had an extra song .

Is the black cover a rarer one?

Invest $50 in an all-code DVD player.

But make sure it will play PAL or that you're TV can display PAL rather than just NTSC, otherwise you will have headaches. Club discs I believe are all region 0 (meaning they'll play in any region) but are PAL not NTSC, so won't display properly on most US TVs. We're lucky here in Australia (and the UK), most DVD players, TVs and VCRs have the ability to play NTSC (the US TV format) as well as PAL (Australian and UK TV format). In the US I believe multiformat (NTSC/PAL) is pretty rare.
I picked this one up last year in Melb (reunion time), Bridge Road down the lower end of the road opposite an old Council Hall ? Paid $25 for the dvd. Bootleg I'd say, nothing to do with the club mentioned on the cover.
Track listing.

I wouldn't dream of it
Hermit McDermott
I got you
How can I resist her
Charlie
Poor Boy
What's the matter with you
I hope I never
Give it a whirl
Nobody takes me seriously
I see red
That was my mistake

The quality is excellent by the way. Big Grin
Can't remember what I lent you now, don't think it was this one though.

This is deffo in the studio and a sprinkling of audience, bit lack lustre performance, (they need lots to perform to) but Tim was doing his best to get things going.

I don't know what the club one looks like but my cover looks like a scan with added dvd on the spine and dolby digital on the side.
Yellow, orange and light blue True Colours album print on the front. Rated G
65 mins. Big Grin
Tim didn't look happy at that one, and the audience response is lacklustre to say the least. Love Outer Mongolia, probably more than Fire Drill (which it became), and much better than Murder (the interim version of the song).

Reminds me of a boot I have somewhere of the Enz playing True COlours material before the album was released. They play I Got You, and as soon as the intro starts you expect to hear the crowd go beserk. There's nothing at all, no cheering, no clapping. Odd to hear considering what the reaction was after it was a hit.
Outer Mongolia hasn't grabbed me at all. Fire Drill on the Hamilton Canada dvd is bleedin excellent. Eeker < This is the, are you mad? look. cough cough Murder ? this I haven't heard.

I Got You on Pinkpop the audience is pretty quiet for that one. Don't know the date. Ooh Lead a Horse to Water on now. ahhhhh if only I had the visual of that gig. Wonder if Noel had the coconuts out?
Yep, poor Timmy is not happy with the lack of crowd response. And boy he can sweat!

Besides the best version of Charley ever imo, plus a great time capsule to have, the standout moment for me is Tim going nuts at Malcolm after WTMWY (cos Malcolm went back into the full music drumming earlier than T&N were expecting). It's like a car accident - I can't not look at it.
