Yes indeed Mrs Timtam, and a 7/11 for those late night alcohol induced munchies...

And I have a feeling you'll give me a run for my money anyhow. Wink

Let's hope the residents of Sydney have their earplugs ready.

And have their windows closed at 4 am!! Big Grin
Texas Rose looks like we'll all meet up at Seany's 'Ayyyye' place Paddy Maguires (without going back pages), sounds good to me, and Tracy doesn't look like anyone travelling over to Aus is going to be alone for long once the meet ups start happening !! Remember at the last finn brothers concert in brisbane there was much meeting out the front then much scurrying from seat to seat in the auditorium. Then once the music's on just go for it to the front.

If i forgot to answer anyone just give me a hoy, place here seems to have gone a bit boomtime.
Hello m'dears!
I'll be going to the Brissy show with JAL (and our sisters) but we're about 8 rows back - so we're kind of separated from the pack... Frowner
Hmmm - do you think the bouncers would object too much if we sat on the floor in front of the first row? hehe Big Grin We'd behave, honest... there'd be minimal drooling, I swear! *halo*. Wink

I hope lots of you will be at Brissy 'cause we're hoping to catch up with as many Frenz as possible this time round!
You can sit on the floor in front of the first row, Julz. I don't mind, but you won't be able to see anything. I plan on abandoning my seat(and my husband. sorry hunny) as soon as the guys hit the stage, and I don't think I'm the only one!!!
Penny what is the general concensus of occurance regarding leaving the seats for Brisvegas? Last time I was at the BEC it was for Duran Duran and I was up to the side, borring as batshite watching everyone down the front centre grooving on. This time I'm four rows back for the Enz ~ does that mean we all abandon our seats and surge to the front or stand where our seats are? heh heh - I have NO intention of just sitting there let me tell you now but dammit I sweated it for that 4th row and don't want to be pushed back!

Oh Penny?

I've just consulted the PACK constitution and it seems your Sydney experience was the introductory phase and that your intermediate PACK initiation will take place in Melbourne in June....

did you not get the forms in the post??

Not to worry - we'll run you through it once you're in town. I'm sure secretary Mrs H-P will talk you through the formalities.

Bring clean undies.

Oh and meeting Neil was part of it - so cool! You've passed that section......

And Seany - we like boys....ah I mean we like meeting new people and sharing our um passion for the music. Are you coming to Melbourne?

Hang on.....

if I'm only up to the intermediate phase, then 7 worlds and Kelly Timtam are in for a hell of a ride. Buckle up ladies!!!!!

And OneStepBehind, I don't mind where you stand as long as it's not in front of me or any of The Pack. I'm assuming that part of my *cough* continuing *cough* initiation is to provide a clear path to The Enz for the founding members of said institution. Wink
If that doesn't earn me more brownie points then I don't know what will! Razzer
Okay, so does travelling flipping 15,000 miles round trip get me any points? No? What else must I do. Tell me please. Underwear, check. Willingness to trample the crowd in a rush to the stage? Check. Ability to imbibe large amounts of alcohol and be the 'last one standing?' Check. Can I join the PACK? Huh, can I, can I?
LMBO !! It's all too funny!

and

I would't be surprised at all if Ms Levitt is out for the Aus experience !! You've got to Deb! You know you want to. Keeping Mum ?? hmmm

Its the ole "Where there's a will, there's a way ! "

Go figure that, the story goes one of the staff were sacked for not sweeping the aisle dancers back, but that was 2 years ago. hmmmmmm Think they were pretty nasty with the cameras too.

It helps actually if you can manage one Miss Electric_blue when she has imbibed large amounts of alcohol. Just come see us in the Pack tent/HQ and we'll look over your application. Big Grin
Big Grin
what she said!

and the thing about Electric-Blue is a good point... have we made penny do that yet??

*rustles through notes and CCTV footage*

ps AnnieMay - isn't Seany Irish??
I'm coming solo to Melbourne...please may I be initiated into the PACK?

Glad to know about the clean underwear thing...

SEANY!! HEY!!! SEANY!!!!!

You irish??

Big Grin
Of course it's entirely possible that the uninitiated may take one look at us Pack crazies and decide they want no part.

Why can I suddenly hear that old classic 'You're going home in the back of a divvy van' in my head? Big Grin
Take me under your wings, I beg you PLEASE take me under your wings.

P.S. I am going to take the plunge and try on Wednsday (however you spell that dang word) to buy a concert ticket for Adelaide, course I'll have to sleep at the bus depot but you know, they're worth it.
we've had a great time meeting so many Frenz from around Australia (and our own town!) and other countries

What a magic existence

Thanks to all our fellow Frenz for making each concert we've attended so far souch a special thrill

*hugs*

Looking forward to seeing more of y'all in June, and hearing all your impressions of the concerts too

I hadn't read this topic until someone reported it to complain about it.

I will not be attending. I don't have the time or money to see the Enz in AU or Sparks in the UK for that matter.

I'm not a push to the front type. I'm more likely to sit somewhere where I won't be squashed.

Let's not create a frenz gang, please!
we promise to be good.

exuberant... exhilarated... but good.

no squashing!

hopefully some photos though.. would you like us to post some when the time comes?
Yes I would like to echo your sentiments RedGirl...apart from the magical Finn presence at all these concerts there have been other special moments. Soooo many connections made....

Starting out with this forum, (bless its cotton socks) and now WELL into my RL..these Frenz have created some of the most memorable and special special moments..Many of them I now share my (real) life and much MUCH laughter with...

Can't wait to meet more of you!

What is all this 'gang' and 'pack' rubbish? If you have got tickets to the concert, just go and have a good time. Sometimes, I think people get more more excited about meeting people they have never even met instead of looking forward to seeing the band. Focus on what is important here, talk about SPLIT ENZ!
I disagree with you NWWY. We have been dedicated fenz for a long time, and talk about the Enz quite extensively in this and other topics. I assume you have read those as well! Through this forum I have met a lot of like-minded people, who are all really, really looking forward to going to see the Enz, and have been doing so for years. And part of the fun, is anticipating these shows together, and meet up and enjoy the shows together with the frenz we made through this forum, which is much more fun than being there on your own. Especially when, like a lot of us, you travel from different parts of the world to be able to finally see the Enz.

I have learned that most of us, through the love of our music, have a lot in common, which is why I look forward to meeting my frenz again!
But if you think that this is more important than finally, finally being able to see the Enz performing live, I think you are slightly missing the point! But we are not called Frenz of the Enz for nothing!
quoted from Debaswas "I hadn't read this topic until someone reported it to complain about it."
??? Complain about meet ups before the concert?
The whole experience is the enz and joining up with more frenz even the better to enjoy the whole experience.

"I will not be attending. I don't have the time or money to see the Enz in AU or Sparks in the UK for that matter."
I don't really have the time or money either but its totally worth it, if i didn't get the time off work I was going to resign. Always something better out there, sometimes you just need a wakeup call.

"I'm not a push to the front type. I'm more likely to sit somewhere where I won't be squashed."
Brisbane would be good for that as most don't get up out of their seats, so keep that one in mind if you do make it at the last minute, never say never.

"Let's not create a frenz gang, please!"
The pack are a mob of girls who a rooming together for the tours, probably all go mad by the end of it, and sick of each other, but we'll have fun at the meet ups with Seany and all else who decide to go along with his suggestion of Maguires Pub for pre-drinks in Sydney, carpark picnic in brissie and don't think Melbourne's been decided yet, Adeleaide and Perth also to be decided by those going.

NWWY this is a meet up thread/topic for Frenz.
The subject leader "Which Concert Are You Going To?
Meeting Fellow Frenz Before The "FRENZY"??."
ps:- yes it nearly killed me with jealousy not going to Homebake, so i found it best not to read any of those threads, but i absolutely loved everyone's stories after the show ! Made you almost feel like being there. So thanks to all those who reported in.
You go girls, nothing wrong with getting excited is there!?!?

Sorry Deb, but I found your post a bit lacking in humour. I'm sure the girls do all this in good spirits, and we're all flippin' excited!!!!!!!!!! (Please don't shoot me down - it's just an opinion).

I for one am looking forward to meeting everyone I've spoken to here and elsewhere!
I agree, Sinful.
It's all in good fun. The Pack are just a group of like minded, Enz lovin' girlies who love to get together and celebrate all that is Finn and/or Finn related. There is no gang. We all live in different parts of the world and are VERY excited that we are going to get to see each other again so soon!

To anyone who thinks that it is rubbish, I'm sorry that you feel this way. I cherish my FRENZ, who also happen to be my friends, and I, for one, am very excited at the thought of seeing them AND Split Enz at the same place and the same time.
I'm sorry if my exuberance offends anyone, but expect more of it. I'm not going to calm down anytime soon. It's just the way I am. Love me for it or leave me. I'll live either way.

Totally agree, Penny. I can't express how much I love the Enz, but without my Frenz to meet up with, I don't think I'd go all the way across the world. I wouldn't want to do everything alone! I wouldn't want to be running to the stage, dancing and singing like a maniac by myself with stunned faces looking on! It IS what the Frenz are about, what Frenz of the Enz is all about. I've never met a better group of people, and never had a better time!

If I'm thought to be weird, pathetic, immature, whatever, so be it! Wink

I'm gonna do it all over again! Big Grin

Tracy
I did get a complaint, but I couldn't find a serious problem with the topic. Notice I didn't warn or close anything. I understand that people are crazy excited. I would be too if I were going. Smiler
Hallelujah.

Thanks Deb.

We really are harmless. Just a teensy bit excited.

I know for a fact I wouldn't be going to more than one show if it weren't for my fabulous Frenz. It's all of you guys (yes my fellow Pack members) who make these shows extra special.
