Hey Frenz,
I know many have asked about the Finn’s houses in Melbourne over the years. I have the addresses but would like clarification about when they lived at each house - and what songs were written in each place.
I’ve gleaned so far…
11 OSBORNE STREET, SOUTH YARRA
Neil wrote ‘Message To My Girl’ in the front room of this house.
Most of Crowded House’s debut album written here.
2/18A MURCHISON STREET, ST KILDA EAST
Woodface demos.
FINN album demos.
22 SHIRLEY GROVE, ST KILDA EAST
Neil Finn’s house.
195 HAWTHORN ROAD, CAULFIELD
Tim Finn’s house and ‘Periscope Studios’.
Neil wrote ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ here.

So I’m assuming Neil, Tim, Paul Hester and other Split Enz members lived at 11 Osborne Street in South Yarra in the early days?
I’ve heard Tim and Neil then both lived at Murchison Street in St Kilda East.
When did Neil buy Shirley Grove and what songs were written there?
How long was Tim at his Caulfield residence?
Any clarification on which years they lived where would be appreciated!
Many Thanks.
