There is a clip somewhere or some interview where he says he wrote most of Together alone in the turret atop the Shirley Grove place.

You can see the turret from Murchison street it’s worth visiting, like the crowded house version of visiting Abbey Road. Fun experience to be physically close to where the magic happened.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I’ll have to go check out Shirley Grove and spy the turret from Murchison Street! I’m not far at all from St. Kilda East so is a pretty short pilgrimage.

I call it a "project" whether or no it be intended for further dissemination, or pure personal pilgrimage. Both (or other!)  seem worthy objects to me, and I hereby stake my own interest in the "place-origins-of-great-songs" general theme.

I'd suggest that a great or good many of at least Neil's rough gems or polished pure rocks (or pop rocks) surely must originate on the stairs? Yet "which building, though?" has a decided interest all its own. COOL IDEA, regardless of how, where or when it fruits forth, or what into.

I feel it is more likely to be in the kitchen.
