I'm going with the North, South, East, West version. The original (to me) could easily have been dismissed as a bit of fluff with a nice, danceable groove. The remake made me sit up and listen.
I'm a sucker for the energy and tempo of the orginal. The new version is nice but I rarely think I'll feel like listening to it over the original. If I wanna hear "So Deep" then I probably want to dance around.
I really do like them both. I'm going to be all metaphorical now and say the Big Canoe version is "day" and the NSEW version is "night"...that works for me.
I love both versions, but I voted for the original. The new version is very atmospheric and sucks you into its slow groove. And yet even tho the original has a slightly eighties feel to it, it's got a great hook and beat and Tim's vocals are on fire. I think that vocally Tim was at his most powerful on Big Canoe.

Well, right now, I'm not sure what extra perks we can offer. So I'll use "premium memberships" as an opportunity to let fans easily donate to the site. You will be charged $20 every 6 months. The software company who gives us the forum keeps $6, and gives us $14.
This forum software won't let us charge less than $40/year... sorry! This is the equivalent of about $3 per month. So little for something SO cool that we're always improving. Cancel any time to not be charged again.
All donations are appreciated! You can also PayPal any amount to webmaster@frenz.com.
