Thanks for that Incognito.
He is quite the dab hand at mixed media.
Wonder what i'd look like in oils? Big Grin
He has done some beautiful work, & several hang in the National Gallery of Victoria.

Must dig out my Mayrol Chain. Always looks good in portraits. Smiler
Man I so want a raincheck on those prices Phil's charging !!
What a unique opportunity for a fine artist offering his services like that !! I'm stunned. I'll have a 'Joshua Smith' type portrait done thanks with 'the Cypriot' behind me. Go look up William Dobell.

Okay I'll stop drooling.
ps Phil get your butt on stage in Melbourne.
Well if Phil does a self-portrait it can be entered in the Archibald. I'd end up looking like Mrs South Kensington or the Landlords Wife (nice and round at least)! probably end up like the portrait of an Irish Youth. Painted over, hmmmmm which could be better than Joshua Smith, he went to ashes.

Did very much like the examples displayed on Phil's site, would love to see more of his work, but didn't we raise this question somewhere about the artwork of the Enz lads?

i believe the technical artistic term for nice & round is, "Rubenesque", at least it was when i went to art-school.
i've started saving for my Judd portrait, but my paper run has been inadvertently curtailed by the rain. Frowner

See for yourself, as it looks like Mr. E. Elf's portrait is up on Phil's site.

Hope you don't mind me posting that up there Elf - I'd say you're the recipient of one of Phil's best recent portraits - nice one! Time for a new avatar?

Yes, I'm super pleased with how it turned out...very blown away by it really. He captured our likenesses very well while making us just a little bit "bent" or charicaturish. I'm amazed by all the detail in it -- the frosty, twilight city, etc.

Since I chose to not have a straightforward portrait done, I asked Phil if he would just do what he wanted with us, so other than sending him some photos, I gave very little input as to what the composition should be. I'm always most fond of the results when an artist, musician, etc. interprets/creates as they wish.

The end result is very meaningful to me, but I can't go into an indepth explanation of the drawing. I only have my own interpretations dancing about in my head.
I got a sneak peak of my portrait today. Amazing stuff!!! I can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it...........being careful to touch the edges only, of course.

I requested a "bent" style and it's almost like Phil got inside my head. Arrrgggghhhhh!!! Get out of m'head!!!!!

Oh, you must be the Woodys! Creepy Victoriana, matey! Way to go. I love that one!
Jaffa - that's absolutely gorgeous Big Grin

When I first looked at your portrait you reminded me of the baby on the mental notes cover Eeker (I mean that in a lovely way). It was only passing, because when I kept looking, it looks like you Smiler

Very, very cute Cool

I would have loved to have had my portrait done by Phil, but was a bit short of cash at the time. Frowner No doubt it'll be one of those times I'll look back on and wish I had just done it.
