Wow, am I excited to see Pajama Club reform for 2020!

I must admit, I'm more than a little surprised to see Sharon is out of the band. She was integral to the sound, not to mention that she had been with Neil for a very long time! I guess Nick Seymour is a sensible addition; he has some history with the Club though in fairness he hasn't been around for quite some time. I am sure Neil knows what he is doing here but for us old-time fans, this will sting.

Replacing Sean Donnelly with Mitchell Froom is an interesting touch. He's so commercial, where the PC vibe was always anything but. I hope he doesn't change the sound I remember so fondly.

If we want to call it Pajama Club I am all for it!  I think the Pajama Club album was the best and unique in decades for a Neil project.  If the music goes away from the poppy stuff of the last Crowded House album and gets more experimental and unique etc like Together Alone or even Pajama Club (and with his sons involved it should)  then we should be thankful

You do realise that Neil Finn is the only member of both Pajama Club and Crowded House Mark III, right?

Pajama Club
Neil Finn
Sharon Finn (not a member of CH v3)
Sean Donnelly (not a member of CH v3)
Alana Skyring (not a member of CH v3)

Crowded House (Mark III)
Neil Finn
Nick Seymour (not a member of PJC)
Mitchell Froom (not a member of PJC)
Liam Finn (not a member of PJC)
Elroy Finn (not a member of PJC)

By that logic, the 1977 Split Enz line-up has as much in common with Pajama Club.

You do realise that Neil Finn is the only member of both Crowded House Mark III and that month in 1989 where he fired Nick Seymour?

The joke was funnier when I thought Liam and Elroy were in PJC. They weren't? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I just assumed they were. I can't say that band made a dent in my consciousness.

I listened to some of the PJC album yesterday to see if I was being unfair to it. I wasn't.

Pajama Club album seems to be the only one that peaks the interest for people that don't know Crowded House/Finn solo music....when I play that music.  I tried with numerous people and when Pajama Club comes on I get comments like "wow, what is that?"  "who is that"  etc etc.  Alot comes from guys I know that listen to alot of music.  One or two said that, and they are big Zepplin/Floyd fans so I thought that was interesting.

It was experimental and a bit ahead of it's time.  I still give it a spin now and again and enjoy it.  There are some definite gems on there that I love to hear when Neil and company break them out at gigs.
