As I'm listening to Paul McCartney's new album I was thinking Neil should do the same thing: all Neil, all instruments. He definitely can play the drums well (as heard in Pajama Club and I think a couple of Crowded House songs, etc)....I am not sure about the bass. Has he played bass on a recording before? I think it would bring out different creative juices from The Man Neil.

Yup - he played the bass on the first Finn Bros album...
He's also guested as a bass player on another artist's song (sorry so vague!). I heard it played and announced on RNZ one time.
I've just ordered the McCartney record and looking forward to giving it a listen. I thought Finn sounded quite similar in that both Neil and Tim played the instruments.
Would be really nice! Neil plays bass on I’ll be lightning the song and I think on twisty bass (at least in the live setting)
Makes me think of Ben Kweller’s wonderful self-titled record.
McCartney’s new one hmmm...which are the stand-out tracks?
"Fall" at Neil's feet. I think we all know who's the more talented one.
@Byrds there are lots of elements to like of the Mccartney album: Find my way and When winter comes I like a lot. Other tracks have nice elements, Deep down has a really nice groove.
