Hi folks.

I performed a cover of Stuff and Nonsense at my show back in November '08, and recently decided to try my luck with recording an actual "studio" version. Love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

I have it loaded in the music players on both my MySpace and Facebook pages - so depending on your preferred site (!), you can either visit:

Jodi Arlyn @ MySpace

or

Jodi Arlyn @ Facebook

Thanks for listening!

A round of applause from yours truly! That is beautiful! You made it your own, whilst respecting the integrity of the song, well done! Your voice is lovely too -and you look a little like Kate Bush in your photo. Wink
Stuff and Nonsense - oh,you're good .. great mix on the vocal .. love the deepish soulful, sultry, sexiness inflection of it all in a very Joni Mitchell kind of a way ..Cool!! Wink

Goodbye Seventh Avenue - not an easy song to sing .. but you hold those notes together and in key beautifully... love it.

Love Lover - this is my fav .. really shows more of your vocal range .. nice .. really nice.

Stupid - studio version would do the song more justice .. a better reflection of the track.

And you're a bit of a babe Jodi Arlyn .. and I mean that most respectfully and in the best possible taste. Big Grin

We'll Stay tuned. because you are a work-in-progress...! Wink
Ok, where's the smiley for "blushing" ?! Thank you both for the lovely comments!

I think when you have a strong affinity (a-finn-ity?!!) for a song, it makes it both easier and harder to sing...easier because you know your emotion will come out in your voice, but harder because you want to do the song proper justice! Aggh!

Hunter, so funny - someone else mentioned Joni Mitchell when I played this for them - and I had never heard that comparison before ... very exciting. Hee!

Hoping to get into the studio this year to record an album and "Stupid" should be one of the tracks. Looking forward to that. I will keep y'all posted!

Question - if I was gonna cover another Enz/Finn tune - what would you suggest?

Thanks again you guys...this was a great way to start my Friday!!

How about, "Into Temptation"? I can hear that working well as a piano ballad -or "Nails In My Feet", "Living In A Minor Key", a jazz-piano vocal rendition of "Nice To know", plenty of possibilies!
You are so very welcome Jodi

let me think about that for a while.
I've picked two of the hardest for you (vocally)
I want to hear what you can do with these.it'll be interesting to see what your arrangement will sound like.

Don't do it like Fang - bring your own interpretation to the table Wink and I suspect you are more than capable of doing that.
Don't take this the wrong way .. but I can definitely hear a touch of "Country" going on in your voice, especially the track "Love Lover" .. just add a touch of steel guitar and there you have it .. could be a great crossover for the Jazz/R&B/Alternative/Country charts .. Just a thought... Carry on Big Grin
