Hey everybody. I'm going to be in LA on a biz trip and will have some free time before catching a red eye flight on Monday 17 November.

I'd like to get to the LGB airport around 7:30pm for a 9:10 flight. So I'm free from probably the late afternoon through whenever I have to leave from wherever to get to the airport. Earlier that day, I'll be in east LA, so not sure if that inspires anybody.

Please reply if you're around and interested in a short hanging out while I'm in your fair city. Smiler

ps: no I will not have Rare vol 2 with me, but I will be selling my "Starting A Successful eBay Business" seminar on CD. Smiler In fact, I'm in town to deliver that one live.

Thanks for the email! I'm still waiting to see what my Monday holds... I'll be in Carpinteria, and either sitting there doing nothing OR going into east LA to see what I hope is a new client. If the new client doesn't sign on, I may not go see her. Smiler

So I'll keep you guys posted! Thanks!

Carpinteria. Goodness me, it is a small world. That's where my ex's sister and husband live (he teaches at UCSB, from memory). And the 17th is my 31st birthday. I'd join you myself, only the INS (or whatever the anagram is that has replaced them) would toss me back at LAX. Damn. Red Face
hmmmm

truth be told
i still don't know if i'm working that day.
(holding down a ****ty retail gig will do that.)

but also
where you'll be is pretty far from where i am.
(in hollywood)
and i don't know that i'll have the gas or funds to cover it.
i'm sorry!!!
i was looking forward to meeting another fren[d]. all the same, i hope you enjoy your brief stay here and that your business trip goes well!

[edit: heh - i hadn't realised this forum has an automated censor. a bit...erm...Orwellian, isn't it?]
Not meant to be Orwellian. I've gone over this before, and I'll mention it again. I have two options: check ages for every member and get parents' permission in writing for everyone who is under a certain age... OR say that this board is basically rated G Smiler and is OK for anybody of any age without parental permission. I went for the second, so I have it turning a few common curse words into ****.

If anybody wants to discuss that, let's move to General Frenz so we can keep this topic about me in LA. Smiler
Thanks for letting us know about your trip. I'm about 3 hours north of Long Beach and recovering from a little surgery, so I can't make it. Long Beach has done a lot of redevelopment around the convention center and the Aquarium of the Pacific. My favorite thing in the world is to tour aquariums all by myself, so I know what I'd be doing if it was my afternoon. The Queen Mary has nice views of Long Beach (it looks across to the conv ctr and aquarium) and is fairly well preserved-restored with lots of beautiful wood and art deco touches. They continuously change the arrangements, but it's typically been nominal or no fee to stroll on and get the run of most of the ship, then an extra charge of like $16 to go through the engine rooms and see some special exhibits like furnished cabins of each class and ship models - prob best enjoyed by the most obsessed.

Have a great trip!
