I actually thought it sounded pretty good for the first two songs, and that maybe I had misjudged this whole thing. And then came the opening strains of Second Hand News and my skin started to crawl. Why would they play that song?? Dumb decision.  I could not take hearing Neil sing that song to Stevie. I turned it off when they turned to sing it to each other. Yuck.

It didn’t look like it was live-streamed oncwtv or the iHeartRadio app but I found this:

I thought The Chain was a lot better than the Ellen performance. I thought Don’t Stop and Little Lies (Sugar Mouse - LL was the second song not YMLF) sounded better than the On With The Show tour versions.

I agree that Second Hand News was an odd choice. I didn’t hate it, but there just is no reason to play LB songs (particularly ones that start “I know there's nothing to say/Someone has taken my place)”!

It looked like Neil was enjoying himself and sounded in good voice.

I hope this tour makes it to NZ - the lineup already look like they are started to gel and will only get better once they hit the road.

Would have been smart to play Oh Well instead of Second Hand News.

Gold Dust Woman was the highlight for me. Stevie sounded close to her old self in that song and it gave each of the members a chance to shine.  Better to go with older songs with less Lindsey influence. The band has so many great songs that lack the "Lindsey gloss" and I would love to see the band embrace them. "Hypnotized", "Oh Well", "Dust", etc.

And perhaps it's me but it looked to me like Christine wasn't playing the keys. I barely see her hands moving and their a keyboardist behind her who is clearly playing.

After watching the above video, I have to say that I am disappointed.  I know that the sound and video quality were not the greatest, but I heard and saw enough to determine that I think Neil is not the right man for this job.  Is it me or does Neil not really sound like himself?  He is actually sounding American.  It almost seems that he is trying to sing like Lindsey.  I am not sure if he is doing it on purpose or it may be just a subconscious thing.  But, that is disappointing to me as I have adored Neil's voice, NZ accent and all, for nearly 40 years.  And as some have already noted, Neil cannot quite get the level of angst in his voice that Lindsey made so prominent in these songs.  It might be better if they forego the prominent Lindsey songs, but it looks like they are determined to do some of them.   Have to say that I think that Mike is fitting in quite well, but it is Neil that is giving me the issues.   I was really hoping for the best for Neil, but sad to say that this is just not working for me.  It was also weird seeing the extra players being placed behind the amplifiers so as they are not really seen by the audience.  At least that is how it appeared to me in the video.    I know some bands (like Black Sabbath) have the extra players off stage.  I just don't get that.  What is the shame in having extra players on stage.  CH in the beginning toured with Eddie on keyboards because the needed that extra player.  At least, they acknowledged that he was there.  Eddie actually became a popular part of their show.  What is the problem with that.  Well that's my two cents anyways.

I also thought it sounded good! Although I still don't watch it for the music, I just want to see how Neil is doing.

And I still find it weird to see him front and centre of a different band than his own... It looks like he just took them over! (Which for some reason i find absolutely hilarious.)

I enjoyed it. Better than nothing. Then I watched week two of the infinity sessions and my head opened up again.

I happened to use Infinity Sessions week three for exactly this purpose
