Hey Phil, Stellen Sie ihren Text durch einen bersetzer an http: //www.freetranslations.com/. Dies ist was den ich habe erhalten..

“Anomalous behavior is improve my forteh you. Improve, is was was is around the intellect of all intellects as the apparition of all Donovans to its!!, is was possibly possibly perhaps. "

....is was possibly possibly perhaps. Great song title. These 'translators' may have unseen potential as 'word salad' generators. Watch out Neil!
Big Grin You're still here and speaking german!

I didn't see that you started the topic, only read the title (which sounds sooo cool by the way- LOL!) and was a bit confused first what it's all about.

Aber was immer du mit ihm vorhast, ich glaube, selbst die deutschsprachigen hier werden es kaum verstehen - ich glaube aber, dass ich es verstanden habe...

Ahem... great you still read and write here! Big Grin

Hello Phil!
Glad to see you back at the forum.
Mein Deutsches ist nicht gut, also schreibe ich dieses auf englisch!
I was just wondering a bit about "129."
First, could you tell me about why it was named this, and secondly, if Idyll has something to do with tranquility, and peace, then how would "The Matinee Idylls, they all fall to their knees" make sense? Is idyll just a pun on the word idol?
Thanks a lot!

Razzer Willem.
Aaaaa welcome back! Smiler Dare I ask how long we have you for now? Gork ist kapork sounds like the Swedish Chef muppet. Smiler

OK one of my questions: what do you think of the music the band Sparks put out in the 1970s? I'm newly in love with most of it, and was wondering what a great mind like yourself thinks.

Thanks!

Debbie, working on the auction
Alright, Philmeister. Willkommen. I always kinda wished my parents had taught me German as a child....but these last 2 weeks, I really, really wish they had. (I'm just lucky enough to know a smattering.)

I think Donovan (Mellow Yellow) missed pickin' on ya, Phil, cuz he promptly moved on to insult Peter Holden in another forum....but due to some fine moderating by ..Juddbo, his bile-drenched contribution was quickly deleted.

Anyway, a pleasure to see you drop back for a visit. Alle ist gut mit der Welt.
Damn it! You stole my only German word I knew how to spell 'Willkommen'.....the rest are all dirty words....thanks to my German co-moderator Silke. Wink

Anyway....Welcome back Phil!!!!! Smiler
Kick some ass!

This is what BABELFISH had to say-slightly different...(and it always makes sense!) Roll Eyes

abnormal behavior is mine forteh improves you, around which spirit of all spirit as apparition of all Donovans was too sein!!ist was is,
possibly is possibly perhaps was.

Jackie

Cheers drthirsty. Wink
Kia ora, hoa pai -- welcome back, Phil! Smiler Imagine my chagrin when, as soon as I registered to the forum, you said your goodbyes! Eeker Anyroad, thanks for dipping your toe back into these warm waters and gentle tides. Big Grin

Two questions (for the fleeting moment, noting that today is the 10th):
1. Is Barry Coburn still around -- and does he possess any recordings of (arguably the most incredible aggregation of musicians) SPLIT ENDS (either demos...or the legendary/speculative "Sundowner" sessions)?

2. A bit of clarification regarding the end of "Under The Wheel" -- is it either "just another appointment to keep" or could it be "just another appointment - *don't* keep!"? Confused I was told by a fellow Judd zealot that the latter was truly the case -- and I'm hoping to get the last word...directly from the source! Big Grin

Kia ora rawa atu, 8-{) Rick

P.S. If Maori ain't your bag, then "viel danke fur dein wertvolle Gegenleistung"! Smiler
German - the new "in"- language Big Grin ?

I suggest you all start learning german from now on, hehehe, would make my online life much more pleasant, hehee!

What about starting the "pronounce my name right" competition again? Big Grin

Hey, I've read an article about you, Phil, doing the sound for "Farscape" - really cool I didn't know that! Watch it every Sunday! If you ever need a foreign student for a placement in your company... Wink I'd love to do that!

Hi Phil. Hey Deb, 70's Sparks are pretty cool. Kimono My House being my fave followed by Propaganda and Indiscreet. Sparks Dinky Diamond auditioned for the Enz but was bested by one Mal Green. Big Grin Saw Sparks several times in 75/76 to be followed in early 77 by a then unknown band called, curiously enough Split Enz. Mr PJ kept to himself and the shadows for I do not remember him but he was indeed there. Imagine Deb, a small club, the band in make-up and costumes, Gilles on sax, Stranger Than Fiction, etc. The first night they blew an amp or something and had to end the show prematurely. And all this at the astronomical admission fee of $5.00. Big Grin

Thanks for the reply, Greg. Sparks is off topic here, so I was really just looking for Phil's response... since Phil is on topic here. Smiler

As for Phil coming or going, I would suggest removing expectations. He's obviously doing his own thing in his own time, and that's fine by me. Smiler

Re: the so-called "Sundowner" sessions check out the following Mike Chunn interview: http://www.i5ive.com/article.cfm/new_zealand_music_scene/6553

QUOTE: "There are demo tapes from Mandrill studios recorded just before Enz went to Australia and they’ve just been refound. A beautiful version of Under The Wheel with Tim and Phil singing in unison, singing in harmony through it, so one day they might leak out from somewhere."
