Original Post

Of course I had to check it out.

I thought the tickets right up front on the floor would be the $300 tickets,  but those tickets aren’t even on sale yet.  Tickets in the lower tier at Madison Square Garden are $344 after fees.

And then there’s this:

Add a Mick Fleetwood Meet & Greet Upgrade to your ticket order!
$600.00

*laughs hysterically*. Really ? Get over yourself, Mick.

This event is everything I hate about the music industry.

My wife and I just bought our Fleetwood Mac tickets.  We're super excited and we'll cheer like crazy when Neil breaks into the opening strokes of "Don't Dream It's Over".

Don't, stop,  dreaming that it's over!   Happy for you. Enjoy!

Lots of people on the Fleetwood Mac forum (http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net) are also complaining about the ticket prices, and the meet and greet.  Those people are not happy about any of this.  Some are skipping this tour altogether and waiting for Lindsey’s tour.  That’s what I’m doing!   But then I’ve been skipping Fleetwood Mac tours since after about 1980, although I have seen Lindsey a couple of times since then.

I wonder if Lindsey will form his own version of Fleetwood Mac as he can fill much bigger venues as that billing rather than solo.  Sort of like Crowded House can fill bigger venues than solo Neil.  For example, someone like Sheryl Crow could take the "Stevie" role, Kenny Aronoff on drums, Carole King on keys/vocals, etc.  Could be very interesting.

I can’t imagine him doing that, honestly.

And I expect Mick and John would be all over him in court regarding use of the name.

I'm not a lawyer but I would think Lindsey would have a reasonable claim to the use of the name as he wrote or co-wrote many of their main songs. Cases like that usually end up with the other party using something like "Fleetwood Mac featuring Lindsey Buckingham".  For example, there are several "Yes" bands out there now.  There's the regular Yes and then there's "Yes Featuring Jon Anderson, Trevor Rabin, Rick Wakeman".  Very confusing ...

I saw Lindsey years ago.  He didn't cash in on Fleetwood Mac.  He was Linsdey Buckingham on tour.  He has no need to associate or promote  himself with Fleetwood Mac.  He stands alone with his own talents.  Lindsey doesn't need Fleetwood Mac.

As I said in my last post, Lindsey Buckingham doesn't need to use Fleetwood Mac as a way to promote his music.  He should be able to perform any song he wrote while in Fleetwood Mac.  He hoesn't need to hide behind the Fleetwood Mac image or sucess.  He's talented enough to stand on his own,

Lindsey is perfectly capable of operating at high level outside of Fleetwood Mac, albeit in smaller venues. On both occasions 30 years apart that he's been absent from the big upcoming Fleetwood Mac tour, he's been replaced with two experienced musicians - that's telling you a lot about his capabilities. I saw Lindsey twice on his last solo tour - initially with a full band in 2011 which contained the two auxiliary musicians (Brett Tuggle and Neale Heywood) who have toured with Fleetwood Mac previously and based on the recent CBS footage filmed in Maui will again be augmenting the new lineup with Finn/Campbell later this year, and a second time in 2012 solo, acoustic. Lindsey's solo shows aren't reliant on Fleetwood Mac content, although there were certainly some key songs performed.
Ironically, on both occasions Lindsey had no opening act and instead a collection of music he presumably likes/personally selected was played over the P.A. before he came on stage. On both occasions Neil Finn's "Sinner" was one of the songs played close to Lindsey taking the stage, so it sure appeared that Lindsey was aware of and appreciative of at least one of Neil's songs a few years ago.

I too have seen Lindsey a number of times solo and prefer him much more alone than with FM.  If anything, FM needs him more than he needs them.  I have nothing but continued respect for his artistic integrity.  Not as sure about Neil’s foray into FM, but still trying to be optimistic as always look forward to seeing him in any context.

It's so funny.  We, on this Forum really care about these musicians we don't know.  We have supported their careers, attended concerts and bought CDs or Lps.  As we pour out our hearts, do these guys give a ****?  I doubt it.  If it weren't for us, they wouldn't be famous.  This is not a smear of great talent.  I can't imagine Neil Finn, Fleetwood Mac or Lindsey Buckingham following our posts.

A question?  I have not heard any of the Buckingham/McVie CD.  Do others like it?  Is it worth spending $15 to own?  How would you describe their collaboration? Thanks for your thoughts.

I haven't listened to it that many times. The one song that stands out to me is Sleeping Around the Corner, which I think stands up well with any of the great Fleetwood Mac songs.  If you like Fleetwood Mac albums, I imagine you would like this one as well.  I always mean to go back and give it a more thorough listen but it always slips my mind.

I've noted quite a few NF fans are purchasing tickets just to see Neil in any way shape or band ..

I'd say Neil gives a f#@# as he is now playing at Largo with Liam. I would say in response to the cancelled show perhaps ? http://thescenestar.typepad.co...-at-the-coronet.html

What tour are you talking about?  Neil?  Neil and Liam together?  Some iteration of Fleetwood Mac members past and/or present?

Sorry, there are so many things being talked about in this thread that I am having difficulty keeping up!

I thought Neil played some shows with Liam in NZ & AUS.  I never heard or saw any info about a full fledged tour.  I thought they were releasing an Lp together.  Neil toured Out of Silence in NZ, AUS & 1 show in LA, USA.  It was too expensive to tour the entire planet.

I suspect people who attend concerts are angry about the costs.  Many artists I see play small venues because they'd never fill a stadium.  They can't afford to the rent.  In the Bostin area, musicians are skipping the smaller Boston venues and performing in some really nice, intimate places outside the city.  Ticket prices are affordable.  Also, artists are accessible.  They meet & sign.  The real villians are these Live Nation people who buy up the best seats then charge the public a fortune.  I thought this was going to stop but it continues.  I have paid A LOT to see certain people - McCartney & Brian Wilson off the top of my head.  I work at Gillette Stadium - the NFL stadium in the Boston area so I've seen those who play ia place like that - the Stones, U2, Springsteen, Taylor Swift & other country stars.  They have an enormous fan base & can afford to play there.  I would never buy an expensive Fleetwood Mack ticket.  As I've said before, I will buy a ticket only to see Neil.

This one https://www.laphil.com/events/performances/306/ was cancelled so I'd  say Largo one replaced. Tickets only $40 each

I don't think that was part of a tour, as such. Neil had just arranged to play a few select dates in which he could focus on the Out of Silence album, using strings. I was assuming you were referring to a Neil & Liam tour to promote their upcoming album.

Concerning a Neil & Liam t-shirt that I thought was promoting a new LP & tour was really a t-shirt that was part of some dates Neil & Liam played in 2015.  I wenr back to my bookmark of the t-shirt.  I did not read the description closely.

Quick FYI,  I let myself get sucked into buying presale tix Mon for 299+fees, now lowered to 241+fees.  Apparently not selling well (at least in SF Bay Area) so may want to hold-off - as I should have - and wait for prices to go down even more as gets closer to show dates...

I don't know if you should have buyer's remorse. You are taken care of!!!

I was tempted to buy some $160.00 each (and those were not on the floor) before fees, but I just can't. If it was FB or a Neil solo or CH show in a smaller room in my town, that would be a no-brainer. I respect those who Are buying tickets, and envy your upcoming experience. I'm feeling pretty conflicted about this.  Hoping closer to the show something will open up.
