With the new Finn Brothers project getting closer, we are happy to announce the Finn Brothers NEWS board. The various NEWS areas have always proved to be incredibly popular, and handy for supporters to get regular information.
So thanks to Deb and Frenz.com a new NEWS board has been created for the Finn Brothers Project.
It is located at:
http://www.frenz.com/finnbrothers/
So book-mark it, and as it gets closer to release and touring that's where information will appear first. (providing we get told first).
Hope this is a handy source of information for you guys.
Peter

P.S.- thanks Deb as always.

Sittin' on pins & needles, waiting to hear something. I've been looking forward to this since last Feb., when Neil left the stage after the last encore telling us "...I'll be back with brother Tim!!" (the cheers suddenly louder in answer to that)... so that's almost a promise... eh?!! Yeaahh!!!

(...tries to sit back, wait patiently...)

Yeah just updated the board with a message from TIm, they sound very vibey. Lets hope as the project rolls on we can add fresh news every day.

Re: Club Membership, we have just cleared out about 20 non renewals, so yes there are vacancies in the club.
You can email me (peter@frenz.com) just put Finn/CH/Enz club in the subject heading. Include name and the country where you live and ask for membership information. But please remember to put where you live , so you get the correct information.

Dear Tim and Neil,

Mona and I agree that 16 is a lovely number, 4 Squared, Sweet 16 and all that. It is one of the Karmic numbers, a good chakra (becoming a universal being and all). We think that 16 is a perfect number of songs for your new album.

Many kind regards,

Sue

16 is a perfect number.

Look: 1 + 6 = 7
My birthday: 27.7.1977
Do I have to say more???

Actually snow-white was guided by 16 runts.
In fact there were 16 wonders of the world than 7.
There never haven't been the three Magi at Xmas, there have been the 16 Magie(it was a crowded house then Wink ).
In the original Basketball game, there have been 16 players for each team.
There are 16 pyramides in Gizeh, well they haven't found them all till now.
There are actually 16 planets in our solar system the remaining 7 are hidden from a black hole.
And finally: all together I own 16 pairs of red socks Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

So, this proofs can't be denied. It's foregone: 16 songs have to be on the new Finn album. Big Grin
Is anyone other than me a bit distressed to hear that they've added strings to "Edible Flowers"? (maybe distressed is a bit too strong) I thought that song sounded so good on the "7 Worlds Collide" deev without much more than the piano that I'm a bit worried about it being overproduced on the studio album. I guess I must trust in them and wait to hear the final results.

Sometimes it is the case. I think Tommy J made a valid point there. If you look at all the obligatory "classic" albums, a lot of them (Dark Side Of The Moon and Bat Out Of Hell just to name a few) only have a handful of songs on them... & then there's The White Album - which also doesn't have the normal amount of songs on it.

...although I'm not saying I want Neil & Tim to release an EP!

BUT I would rather their album only has 12 songs, because if they release EVERY song recorded in those sessions, then there won't be anything left over to dwell on... & we'll be stuck with "Weather With You Live #2342352" as the frickin' b-sides! Smiler . See... there's method in my madness thoughts. Comments?

You know, Stew, you would help your case immenseley if you actually refererred to albums released within your lifetime. Smiler

None of the above fit that criteria. You can do better. Try again!!!! Razzer
I think the number of songs for the album is irrelavant. Quality is what we want from the guys and obviously their opinion of the work produced has led them to this problem....do we slap it all on the album or save a couple for b sides....

It's an album world I guess these days so consequently these decisions become harder still.

After all if like Tim says they are stuck on a number of songs how do you choose which will be less heard (b side exposure)?

All I can say is good luck to them Smiler

True, all true! Big Grin
I just don't like seeing good stuff (and isn't it all good?) end up on b-sides of singles...
I hardly ever play my singles, because I hate to change CDs / records too often. I just like to keep the music going...
Besides, those singles would be hard to get here in Holland... Frowner

Well... please forgive me Kia for thinking outside of the box and actually knowing albums NOT released in "my lifetime" Smiler .

Not that I even said I listened to those 3 albums I mentioned (which I do)... all I said was they are the obligatory "classic" albums (which are down in history no matter what) and said they have not many / lots of songs on them. Plus I can't think of many recent "classic" albums which didn't include less than 11 songs.

That aside... tonguetied - I agree. Southerndune - Yes, very true... but singles still do have to have something backing them up IMO... btu then again, I'll be the one buying the singles & then putting the b-sides on the end of the album Smiler .
Dark Side has 9 tracks. Bat out of Hell does have less. But neither are Neil and Tim and their (generally) 3-4 minute tracks. Would anyone here be happy with seven 3.5 minute tracks, taking up 24.5 minutes of a 70 minute CD?

Further.. If they're left with 15 still, that 15 presumably still fits on one CD.. Anyone want to pay for blank space? Wink
13 is an unlucky number to AMERICANS.

OMG. Seriously, I'd never been in a country that cut out the number "13" from the floors on its highrises... I thought it was a joke. Nope!

If the Finns decide to put 13 tracks on the next CD, my first response is "Yay" (followed by "What are they holding back for the singles, and why??")

Up to them, how many numbers it is. Smiler

You don't find many houses numbered 13 either. Although that, at least, is the same in England.

Oops.. There's me bein' all off topic.

Err..
Hooray for the news board.
And err..
13 tracks - definately not enough for the new album.
Yep Pete a USA release is 100% certain, this time the goal is for it to be released (pretty much) the same time everywhere.....

Just back from NZ, the guys are trying to make a brilliant album, so they will take whatever time is needed, but I'd expect the album out in the first part of 2004.....but still no release date
not till we have it ready to go.....

Heard some of Edible Flowers and it's actually really lovely...only heard a bit, Neil was doing some live vocals (instead of dead vocals???) over a new song so the studio was kind of active...

At this stage no plans to release the Visconti show to the masses..... it was more of a private thing.... not even sure if it's stored...

As time goes on the NEWS board will be more active.... and we hope to add stuff every day,
so just keep checking.

Number of songs, I think they'll simply wait till all songs have been completed and make a decision at the end depending on quality and the general feel of the album.... maybe they can put on 13.5 tracks (opps).

take care
Peter
