With a two year interval after "Say It Is So", Tim's another great album "Feeding The Gods" was released in 2001. Now again, 20 years have passed since the release of this album. No lyrics sheet was added, so it is perhaps not unnecessary to gather, by way of a celebration, the words of the songs. Here is the result (with the exception of Phil Judd's "Incognito In California" which is left out here).

Songline

You’ve got a beat-up mind straight out
From the 18th century
You tried to prove that the world was flat
When you turned your back on me
A good walker leaves no tracks
And there’s crystal in his gaze
I know the face that’s looking now
From the time back in the day

We come from a long line
Part of a songline

Let us sing out on the wire
Let us shiver in the trees
Out across the open spaces
Where the music sets you free
Help me spread the message, baby,
That’s inside of you and me

We come from a long line
Part of a songline

All those things that I left behind
All those things that I left behind
They were never mine

On a trace of everything
On the bank that the river kissed
And like a heavenly body, baby,
Let it shine, come, show your bliss

You come from a long line
I see it in your eyes
You’re part of your own time
I’m part of your songline

All those things that I left behind
All those things that I left behind
They were never mine
But they’re part of my songline

I’ll Never Know

Stairway to hell if we believe
The stories they tell on TV

And the radio, tell me what’s wrong
You sound so sad as your list of sums
Finally driven you mad

I’ll never know what came over me
I only know you showed me how to live differently
I’ll never know what came over me
But I’ll prove this world is wrong

What good is it, material gain
And what can we do to relieve your pain

And what we believe it comes round again
And something must fall from the heavy sky
Like a clear blue sigh

Oh Oh Oh
I’ll never know what came over me
I only know you showed me how to live differently

I’ll never know what came over me
But I’ll prove this world is wrong, it’s wrong
Yeah, I’ll prove this world is wrong

I only want to be with you
And we can prove this world is wrong
And we can prove this world wrong

I’ll never know what came over me
I only know you showed me how to live differently
I’ll never know what came over me
But I’ll prove this world is wrong, it’s wrong, this world is wrong
Yeah, I’ll prove this world is wrong
And we can prove this world wrong

Subway Dreaming

And there’s a meaning in the time
I can easily unwind
When I’m inside my own ley line
All the lonely ones are here
As the stations disappear
And I travel in

Subway dreaming, voices underground
Several meanings mixed up in the sound
And it comes to me like white light through a tunnel someway
Subway dreaming, oh yeah

The wheels are turning like a vow
And the promise means somehow
Everything will be much better now
Here in the grey what trouble us
It’s not quite what you thought it was
It’s like candy-floss

Subway dreaming, voices underground
Several meanings mixed up in the sound
And it comes to me like white light through a tunnel someway
Subway dreaming, oh yeah
You and me with subway dreaming, oh yeah

All the lonely ones are here
As the stations disappear
And I travel in the open air

As we make our way across

Subway dreaming, voices underground
Several meanings mixed up in the sound
And it comes to me like white light through a tunnel, yeah
Subway dreaming, oh yeah
You and me with subway dreaming, oh yeah

Subway dreaming, oh yeah
You and me with subway dreamers, oh yeah

Say It Is So

You’re making me feel
You’re making me think
The way people feel
When they’re on the brink
Of what we’re becoming
It fills me with hope
And what we’re becoming

You’re making me real
And spin down the street
There’s light at my heels
And rain at my feet

And what we’re becoming
It fills me with hope
And what we’re becoming
Say it is so

Say it is so
I’ve got to know
Say it is so
Please, let me know
Say it is so
I’ve got to know

You’re making me fly
So high on the wing
Somebody knows why
The earth lost its cling

And what we’re becoming
It fills me with hope
And what we’re becoming
Say it is so

Say it is so
Yeah, let me know it
Say it is so
Please, let me know
Say it is so
Oh, I wanna know
Say it is so
Right now, not tomorrow

Say it is so
Yeah, let me know it
Say it is so
Please, let me know it
Say it is so
Right now, not tomorrow
Say it is so
Come on, let’s go

What You’ve Done

The first time that I saw you I knew my mind
All my best intentions I left behind

The secret code is broken, I found it out
When the door is open there’s no room for doubt

And all I ever wanted was to meet my special one
All the friends that gathered I know each and every one

They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done

The torch that you must carry is burning me
I saw you with your boyfriend he’s bigger than me

The pretty dress I bought you I wear myself
It wipes away the memory of someone else

The mirror ball is spinning like a golden fatso moon
The girls of grace and glamour have all arrived too soon

They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done

And there’s a poet in the bathroom and he’s boring everyone
The newspaper reporters spoiling all the fun
With their lies and crimes and piles of rhymes
That don’t help anyone

They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done
They can’t do what you’ve done

What you’ve done
What you’ve done
What you’ve done
What you’ve done

Sawdust And Splinters

On any raised platform
In any town
In any country in the world
You can perform
And I can’t pretend
You’ve got me believing in it all

Sawdust and splinters at your feet
Nobody shall go home in defeat
And I waited so long
Just to hear your song
And it made me strong

And I’ve been killing time
I’m restless and awkward
Is life’s waiting game
But I’ll bet on everything
Against the sky
Against all the reasons why

Sawdust and splinters at your feet
Nobody shall go home in defeat
And I waited so long
Just to hear your song
And it made me strong

Sawdust and splinters at your feet
Nobody shall go home in defeat
And I waited so long
Just to hear your song
And it made me strong

Sawdust and splinters at your feet
At your feet

Dead Man

Dead man I heard you singing
On a still night through soft summer rain
You came straight through the PA
And the crowd knew your every refrain

Aye just when you think that it’s all been spent
The lemon tree is growing lemons again

Pa pa pa pa pa pa

Summer makes some people lonely
For the ones who are somewhere apart
I don’t know who to leave out
So I’ll sing it straight from the heart

Aye just when you think that it’s all been said
Here someone new is singing to you again

Pa pa pa pa pa pa

I squeeze it until you can taste it
Till the yellow skin turns gold in your hands
Old man I know you still feel it
I can see it when you start to dance

Aye just when you think that it’s all been spent
The lemon tree is growing lemons again

Pa pa pa pa pa pa

Ah dead man I heard you singing

Commonplace

As we stood there in the queue by the ticket booth
I knew at once you excited easily
You were like me we were both there to see a band
To search for an omen of truth on a Saturday night
I’m grateful to lose myself in a crowd with you

It’s commonplace but it’s so lovely
It’s commonplace but it’s so fine
It’s banal but it’s so lovely
We don’t care if we’re in your space or mine
Your space or mine

And by the end of the first song I knew for sure
I was connected to you by a cord
Our faces lit by the light thrown from metal cans
The band sings so sweet, a feedback was taking me down
To where I knew I was a part of you

It’s commonplace but it’s so lovely
It’s commonplace but it’s so fine
It’s banal but it’s so lovely
We don’t care if we’re in your space or mine
Your space or mine

And till the band take the bawl of ‘we’ll never die’
Then from the back of the crowd comes a lonely cry

I wasn’t ready
I wasn’t ready

It’s commonplace but it’s so lovely
It’s commonplace but it’s so fine
It’s banal but it’s so lovely
We don’t care if we’re in your space or mine
Your space or mine

Waiting For Your Moment

It’s been dark and I can’t see
You still remain a mystery
A voice inside a memory
The head of someone sleeping

But every time the rain comes down
I wait until it clears
Playing the stories in your head
Waiting for your moment

The days are getting lonely now
The nights are getting warmer too
I’ll take you where the wild things are
Just around the corner

We’ll listen to the midnight hum
And gather up our fears
Playing the stories in your head
Waiting for your moment
Waiting for your moment

My wilderness is calling to you
My wilderness is calling to you

Playing the stories in your head
Your life is a book you never read

Playing the stories in your head
Waiting for your moment
Waiting for your moment

Party Was You

Sorry if I took it all a bit too far
That’s the way I learn it from my Ma and Pa
To try and be the life from soul the way you are
For the sake is in rock and roll

We have a corner party now that you have gone
Everybody’s gathered and we got to go on
There will never be another quite like you
And I miss the thing you do

And I was barefoot in paradise when I knew the party was you
But now the party is over and I don’t know what to do
I knew that the party was you

We’re dancing to remember, dancing to forget
There’s a piano man, the corner burnt by a cigarette,
Still playing all the songs that made us laugh and cry
But we had to say goodbye

And I was barefoot in paradise when I knew the party was you
But now the party is over and I don’t know what to do
I knew that the party was you
I don’t know what I’m gonna do
I knew that the party was you

But it’s alright, it’s alright
And it’s alright

Wow wow wow wow wow

I was barefoot in paradise when I knew the party was you
And now it’s the morning after and I wake up to no of you
Now the party is over and I don’t know what to do
I knew that the party was you
I knew that the party was you
Yeah, the party was you
The party was you
