That is still cheaper then Sanity Music. Red Face I checked their website yesterday, & both DVD and the live CD are up around the $31 mark... EACH!!!
Hmmm... A JBHIFI only just recently opened up near where I live so I might have to venture across there closer to release date.

And speaking of release dates, get this... FWTTW DVD and/or live CD released through Sanity's website 18/11?!?! Wasn't the release date for Oz 20/11? Confused

I've heard people say stuff like this before about online sites... I think the way it works is the shops (and online of course) get the CDs/DVDs Saturday/Sunday of Monday release.... so sometimes online shops can send them out early... I would imagine that's the case... and the 18th is their date of delivery, and maybe when they dispatch your order?
Hey guys,

I work in an indie record store and can tell you that weekly release dates (in Oz) actually changed at the start of this year. Instead of the old Monday release date (or Sunday if you are a Sunday trader), release dates are now the Saturday. So all things being equal, Saturday the 18th is when you will find it.

I hope you all enjoy reliving the concert as much as I did.

All the best,

Stu
The literal translation from German is: "released without age-restriction."

Maybe that means "unrated" or "uncensored."

Or that could BE its rating--like the American G rating, "suitable for all audiences." But there are some fairly raunchy moments in the show, so that doesn't quite make sense.

Maybe, because your release is an advance copy, it means "has not yet been rated."

Who knows...any actual Germans who would care to comment?

Actually, I don't think the authorities responsible had watched the entire show... as German is my mother tongue, "suitable for all audiences" (while not literal) is the translation closest to the intended statement.

And if fancy wrapping is all whats special about it then fancy wrapping is what i shall go for Big Grin hehe
Ok, just got an email from the mailing list saying I can listen to the album in full if I either a) stick in a Crowded House/Finn cd and follow the instructions... or b) use a code on the website www.farewelltotheworld.com

Being at uni - I have no cds with me (I have 2 of the Enz remasters I just bought, but they're not mentioned)... so I went to the page to type in the code... anyone found where we can type the code in to hear the album?
Actually sooner than you think. Most stores (if not all) will have copies on the shelves this Saturday the 18th.

Don't know why companies insist on saying things are still coming out on Monday. Maybe it's tradition but "officially" Saturday it is so I'll be down JB around lunchtime purchasing the deluxe package of FTTW and Beatles 'Love'.

Alx, I couldn't find it either. When Tim Finn used a similar function on his website a few weeks ago, there were a popup window when you entered the site. Perhaps it will work tomorrow ...

Ok, it appears now on the main page... they've got a full 15 minute interview stead (The Day they Brought the house down) and 7 live video tracks... haven't watched those yet - just watching the interview...

You have to register, but it's nothing too taxing - more so they can send you emails about Tim (yes, that was the question!Smiler)...

So, it's www.farewelltotheworld.com and get your cds ready... Everyone is Here counts too!
Hey Frenz

I got the FTTW dvd. I just watched it and wow! I had the VHS version, which was ok, but the picture and sound quality is amazing! As well as all of the extra songs, it also has more banter between songs, including some crackers from Hessie. I wont give any away, as I'm sure you'll all have copies of it by this time tomorrow. I love the inclusion of Throw your arms - such a awesome song. I havent watched the special features yet. Anyway, well worth the wait.

Oh and for those who were concerned, there is far less fottage of the annoying yellow cleaning sign man thing! YAY! Still some footaage of crying teenagers (and others) but rather appropriately during throw your arms.

Double Yay! That thing always annoyed me for some reason.

Glad you didn't give anything away, TWWYL, I want it to be like it's brand new!!

Remember, even if it's not on the shelf tomorrow, ask for it and it will probably be out the back!

Yeah I pestered the shop assistant for my copy (ash1296 I got mine from JBHIFI in Sydney - city centre). They will have them all on the shelves tomorrow. Apparently the cds were embargoed - so you cant release them early, but yeah the guys said they're all available tomorrow. And Like Kazzie said, if its not on the floor ask!

I watched the speccy features pretty cool. some cool demos of Instinct and Italian Plastic for the photo slideshow.

I'll shut up now, I just got an email about it and posted it here,
Got the dvd last night and watched it through with the audio commentary - very funny by the way... I couldn't help but be a little disappointed though with the video transfer. When watching it on a large screen, it is noticeably softer than what I would have expected. Significantly, in fact...almost blurry in parts. No disrespect to the people involved who went through the no doubt arduous task of reframing all the shots for 16:9 widescreen, as I love a widescreen presentation myself, but I think in this case I would have sacrificed the widescreen to have the better picture. As it is now, there is a very "video" quality to the whole thing. I know it was shot on video, but I mean it feels like I'm watching a tape, not dvd, albeit a very clean new unwatched video tape, but doesn't feel to me like I'm watching this footage in it's most pristine form. I've compared it with the Anniversay clip on the Split Enz dvd and that older footage comes up clearer. But anyway, maybe it's just me... it does look very nice on a small tv though. At least there is the new ENZ dvd to look forward to which was shot on the beautiful sony hi-def cams.
