Neil did a fangradio today - from LA while sharon was cooking dinner in the background... he even read out my msg and played my request

i wrote that it was a lovely blue sky autumn day in sydney and that it was concerning what appears to be coming over the horizon in a few weeks with corona... i ended it with “love this life” and so he played love this life...

he spent some time talking about the concerns / fears of coronavirus and importance of music and community.

(my line dropped out before i heard much more or any musings on how the band is going.)

hang in there frenz its gonna get worse before it gets better

another fangradio friday...

According to neilfinn

Songs sung by Neil with acoustic guitar on Wednesday 18th March 2020 included:
Don’t Dream It’s Over
Better Be Home Soon
Love This Life
Distant Sun
Rest of the Day Off
Something So Strong (original demo arrangement)
Catch The Wind

... I also missed the broadcast, so hope someone recorded it because Neil might choose not to archive these short events

It's great he's doing this,  however, working at home and taking care of kids had made me miss this twice even though I was aware of it. Neil's music is huge bright spot for me and I would really appreciate it if we were able to view the shows when we are able. I hope he would archive these. It would mean a lot to the fans that couldn't see it.

These Fangcasts are great .. listened two archived on NF website and played along  (badly) on everything  but for a few moments I was "in the band" .. dream on ..haha.. keep it going.......

I do the same 👍🏻 It's bedtime here when they're on, which is a perfect conclusion. The dog left the room yesterday with a disgusted look during Message to my Girl, but I don't know whether it was my singing or Neil's creative piano playing.

@UK Neil practice makes perfect ...

@ Mica, my guess is it was neither your singing nor Neil's creative piano playing ... but the fact that you were sending out The Message to "your girl" instead of your four-legged companion ... aaah some dogs never understand LOOOL ... anyway, you've my day

Ah, that'll be it, thanks, the singing shall continue then 😉 And you're right, he's a he, and dogs are just needy.

Worth catching live if you can because the sound quality of the live broadcast seems to be a lot better than the archived versions.  Listened to a couple of the archived versions and the sound was compressed and distorted, whereas the live broadcasts sound terrific.

The archived audio is the same 192kbs stereo mp3 quality as the live stream. Until a few days ago, Neil was simply using the built in mic on his MacBook Pro. But now Liam has rigged up decent microphones and a mixer.

I’m adding the setlist and any photos and videos to www.neilfinn.com/Fangradio

The sound from the last few has been really good. And the more lo-fi ones were charming, they're just people stuck at home crowding around a laptop with a guitar, in the way most of us currently are. Very lucky that he already had a routine for this... the broadcasts have been a nice diversion. The other day I grabbed a bass and played a long for a bit. The internet enables some fun moments.

Can anyone fix that?

Is it possible it’s because there was a “new song excerpt” at the end of this one?

maybe ... Neil played that segment of what he had been working on that day because of a "sense of occasion".

Was it a full band studio recording or something he was working up at home?
