Neil ancestry tracing in Limerick:
Review of the Marquee, Cork show:
Ireland’s main music magazine Hot Press gave a stellar detailed review to the performance at Trinity College in Dublin:
Wow, Manchester was fantastic tonight. Saw them at the Roundhouse which was a great show, full of warmth, but tonight was something else.
They had that extra energy I think from being at the end of a successful, well received tour. But there were several other factors too.
Neil addressing the abortion issue in the states, and the conflict in Ukraine, before Don't Dream It's Over felt like an important message of defiance.
The famously changeable Manchester weather gave us a warm night and dramatic, orange sunset as the band played.
Johnny Marr was a surprise guest, joining the band at the end of Whatever You Want to play a solo, and then did Weather With You too.
They played Message To My Girl. Never thought I'd get to hear Crowded House playing that. A real 'hair standing up on the back of my arms' moment!
And then followed it with Bowie's Heroes. After they did Moonage Daydream in London, it made me think every band should do a Bowie cover in their set.
Plus, the crowd seemed like a such a lovely, fun bunch of people, all in the right spirit, waving at the trains as they passed by.
Oh, and a dancer, who I think might have been Tchad Blake's son (?), joined them on stage fo a few tracks as well. Never thought I'd see Crowded House with dancers.
Limerick Leader review of the performance at King John’s Castle:
Manchester was indeed wonderful. Let's not forget the gorgeous 'Some Greater Plan' too. Fortunately taped and on YouTube by some kind fan.
