Hi Folks,

I recently re-discovered a great concert from German TV. It was recorded in Cologne, Germany on 9th December 1993. My copy dates from a repeat showing a few years later during a time when we had some German channels on our UK satellite set up. Made some nice MP3s out of it too. Check it out on You Tube:-

The original broadcast had a very heavy bass sound for some reason. Live recordings are usually more trebley so I kind of like the dynamic bass on this show. There is a chance of distortion with this show it all depends on what you play it on. When I play it on an old Panasonic TV we have the built-in speakers vibrate like crazy it can't handle the powerful bass sound. However it sounds perfect on the newer Sony TV we have because of the better quality speakers on it. So best to try it on something else or put the sound through a Hi-Fi system.

Lovely to hear 'Walking on the Spot'. I'd heard that Neil had written it years before the Together Alone sessions but it had taken a long time to get right. And to cut a long story short, the version on this tour (which it seems like they weren't going to play) seems to show exactly why. The rhythm is clearly a delicate thing, and they seemed to wander in and out of it as they tried to find the groove. Thanks goodness for the version on the album, which I adore, and I'd love to hear it live once they'd practised it.
