I haven't peeked at this thread in a few days. I'm glad you liked my "remake" of a Crowdies classic. It's for a good cause! "Come to Edmonton!" is a VERY worthy cause Wink

To answer your question Texas Rose, this year in particular it will be difficult for me to travel to a Crowdies concert elsewhere, but since I may never get another chance to see them live again, I'll walk there if I have to!!! One way or another, I WILL see a Crowded House concert this tour!! But I hope the boys will save my feet from walking half way across the country Wink and just come to EDMONTON already!!!! I'm willing to resort to bribery Big Grin

Does anyone know if Coachella does anything like this? Either way there will surely be plenty of bootlegs available of Crowded House's big "return." But it would be great if we could hear a professional soundboard version, and even better an official DVD (though the DVDs of other festivals I've seen are just samplers of all the acts and not full sets).

You're right-that would be great!! Ied so hard to talk my parents ino letting me go and spend all that money to see them there... not happening. But I would jump at the chance to purchase something like that.

In related news, have you all seen the pics on frenz.com/crowdedhouse of the rehearsals!!! The boys look handsome as ever! And Matt seems to be working hard, good luck to him.

OMG Mark, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS??? I think the first part of my forum signature applies to you more than me. Razzer

And I think you might need to visit our new Crowded House website thanks to Iarla and Peter Green Big Grin www.frenz.com/crowdedhouse and view Neil's interview on the Tv Page with regards to this never happening. Neil explains his reasons for wanting to reform Crowded House there.

We even know that Matt Sherrod has ALREADY BEEN CHOSEN as the new recuit on the drums!!!

Yes, there is a fantastic fan club run by the incredible Peter Green! It's called Frenz of the Enz. It's cheap to become a member and you get so much out of it.

For details, Email Peter Green:

i know i know, lol i stopped coming on the forum for a few weeks and when i came back, its like i missed aload lol.

anyways i was well chuffed with what i saw but i wasnt so chuffed to hear they might be playing at glastenbury and apparently the last sales for tickets were last month.

Even so they live on but just one question.

Why didnt they pick the studio drummer thay had before? simon jones or somebody he was called wasnt it? maybe he didnt want to be part of it because of pauls death in 2005 im not sure, maybe somebody can explain that one to me :-)

also what ever happened to eddie raynor? ive not heard nothing about him since the early 90s lol.

that would be class though to have Mark as a second guitarist and Eddie on keyboards, and i know he wasnt strictly speaking a proper band member but for a reunited group it would of been cool.
As much as I like Eddie, I never enjoyed his work with Crowded House. His solos were too eccentric and he liked keyboard effects too much. Not to mention that he didn't play guitar. When Mark came into the fold we got his wonderful guitar solos and much more piano and organ sounds out of the keyboard (instead of pan flute or whatever).

For example, compare any track from the State of Mind CD and the Town and Country Club CD. I suggest "When You Come" or "Sister Madly". Eddie's performances still work but they make the songs sound very 1980's while Mark, I think, adds a timelessness to the performance.
i totally agree with you, mark had much more choices going for him and as you say.....eddie raynor played keyboard but i bet if mark was in the band then hed be playing simular sort of stuff cos it was the 80s wasnt it, it was full of electro stuff lol.

plus mark could play other instruments and from what ive seen of eddie he only has 1 or 2 keyboards, where mark had about 2 or 3 and organs 2 as you mentioned.

As for the other drummer i have no idea what happened to him, must of just not wanted to reunite again.
cant say how peeed off I am, life member and all, busy day at work get home to find an email sent 3 hours 15 mins after the tix went on sale, so I see it like 19 mins ago, tickets all gone, effin cheers! and who decided to gig the same night as I will be seeing Tim in Manchester anyway! some of us dont have the time to be on here all the time!
Oh Bo****ks i also found out too late.
Mind you i did have the privaledge of seeing and meeting Neil the other week, but i have to say i am gutted at missing this one as it is only a couple of hours away from home and WILL be a great night!!
Still never mind hopefully there will be more PLEASE.
I hope that everybody that goes has a fab night and wait with baited breath to see some footage on myspace or something similar.
The gig was advertised on the VIP list email Peter sent out yesterday (or before? I opened it yesterday morning), but he asked for it not to be posted generally on the web until later on, probably so as few tickets as possible would go to those wanting to just sell on ebay. I understand it's really disappointing for those who missed out but Peter does regularly ask/remind people to sign up the VIP list for occasions just like this. I can't remember if only club members can sign up, but it was easy enough to do so.

I know this doesn't help now, but just thought I'd mention it.
I am "supposed " to be on the VIP list as well, thought it was quiet!

oh well its not like somebody died, tho if anyone had been around when the mail popped up in me inbox grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

may well have to pop up to the wee cairngorms, havent registered for Glastonbury, tooo big an event for me these days, me old legs head hands and feet, shame I have a gig on the 23rd I do like KT Tunstall
yes it ws the 7th if your a member your on the vip list but you have to "apply" ie email peter and he will tell you how.
I am just gutted that Neil is here in the UK the Crowdies are reforming and there is NO WAY i could get to Bristol Frowner wish he would do a more central gig as a start up so we all here get a chance than 600+ miles and a 9 hour drive away ( i know i did the drive last year! for a holiday!) cant imagine how many miles for fanz in scotland Frowner
Uxter
you are probably one of the 5% that didn't re sign on for the VIP list OR have not kept their email address up to date.

Email me and I can add you but really up to you guys to do this, simply joining the club does not mean you are instantly added, some people may not want to be on a VIP email list, so we let the member decide by emailing us....it's optional.

All I can presume is that the mail asking me to resign got lost in the ether somewhere! anyway re-signed now so I should at least hear of the next one!
Alan (Uxter)

Yeah it's easy for it to happen or some people change email addresses and just forget to tell us. Could be a number of reasons.

We nearly always send out confirmation emails or feel free to Email if you have a question, sometimes one on one with me will yield quicker results instead of a Post on the forum as I don''t always have the time to check here 9though i do try). (:

Thanks

At least there's plenty of CH to listen to in the carWink

Have a great time!

Good point ... I'll be as well rehearsed as the band. Razzer

Aw, didn't mean to hurt your feelings!!!!! (Did I really, because if I did, it was only in fun!)

Acapella jive bunny megamixes? Whoa that is WAY outta my league!!!
I would drive 7 hours to Detroit if that was the only stop.

But I'd much rather have them in Indianapolis or at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. We have a ton of Aussies that would sell out the place. And being a college town, there are tons of places to hold the gig.

I'll host the 'before show barbie' at my place.
