I just wanted to say how cool this thread is. I'm discovering that it's not just music we have in common here at Frenz.com, it's movies too.

And it's given me a whole lotta new ideas for when I next go to the video library... Smiler
For instance: ta, Matthew McNeill's wife, for the words on "Bridget Jones' Diary" - I was holding off on that one, wondering which would be more entertaining, the book or the film. Two hours well-spent, though, I reckon, seeing that flick!)
Yesterday afternoon, when I heard an awesome cover of Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" done by Ben Folds, I had the urge to re-watch Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous." Honestly, this movie gets better every time I see it. I picked up two new lines this time that I'd missed before, and are great.

Just for funsies, when looking at this thread, I have periodically looked at Frenz choices I haven't seen and run them through the Roger Ebert filter (with which I only very infrequently disagree...SpiderMan and Zoolander being two such examples). So far, most of your recommended movies pass the Ebert test. Wink

Today, I looked up the Ebert review of "Almost Famous" after just having watched it again last night and thought it was incredibly cool that old Ebes picked out the same moment I did as the best example of acting I've ever seen out of Kate Hudson. The fact that she DIDN'T win the Oscar that year despite her nomination is a crime against humanity.

[Side note to you movie buffs...the official Oscars site changed to the "75th Annual version" TODAY. Nominees announced FEBRUARY 11. Who's gonna play me?]
