don't worry kia, no age limit, it's open to all music fans. i mean i was probably only about 5 when the small faces released the song i was talking about. i was just thinking if anyone had any old records in their collections or had heard an oldie on the radio that still sounded vibrant and fresh. i suppose we can define an 'oldie' song as anything before the punk era, mid 70's backwards if you like....quote:Originally posted by kia kaha:

Not trying to smart, or sassy, or whatever the word is in the UK ("to have cheek", is perhaps the verb? LOL)...
It's just that I'd like to specifiy the timeline of "ancient". Is this pre-Split Enz, and if so, by how much?
Pardon me if I'm being picky, but I was born in 1972, and as such, am feeling a tad "middle-of the-road" to participate in this here thread, y'knowwhataImean?
Cheers.[/qb]
I'm only 34 - I just want to make that clear....quote:Originally posted by kia kaha:

[qb] OOOH OOOH - Elvis Costello! An amazing songwriter! Never gets old. Even though "Oliver's Army" is somewhat dated in it's references, it still has some of the most biting lyrics I've ever heard. [/qb]
Why thank you! I have to admit, I am known for my mixed tapes, at least by some of my friends. One of my really good friends broke up with her boyfriend and wanted to have a "Tainted Love" party and she had me make mixed tapes. By the time of her party, she was back with her boyfriend, but the tapes were still used. All the women there really liked the tapes anyways. Some of my mixed tapes are really bizarre though, even I have to admit to thatquote:Originally posted by wuntie:
[qb] Jenn, you mentioned "Sticky Fingers" which is such a great Stones album. You must make the best mixed tapes, Lady! I always enjoy reading about your eclectic tastes.[/qb]
Well, go to it - And send everyone who posted on this thread a copy.....quote:Originally posted by dr hfuhruhurr:
