Don't be ashamed! I have the cd too, and it's a lot better than people would think it is. I forced a friend of mine to listen to it, and she really loves it even though she refuses to watch the show. I cant wait until next season when Spike get's his soul back! I think it's going to be a much better season than the last one - did anyone else get a bit sick of Buffy sleeping with him and then getting mad at him and doing it all over again?! Anyway, be proud to be a Buffy fan!

This was taken at my Bachlorette party the night before I got married in March of 2001 (and taken before too many cocktails, I might add, although there is a rose in my cheeks!). My hair is much shorter now, but you get the idea.... Anne Francis

i remember emailing peter once to ask if there's an address i could send the mix to he said neil was in the process of changing addresses and i could send it then. but then i decided to just wait. i'd have more luck getting it to him in person at a show. i've met him twice (once after each show) and my friends have given him stuff, which he seems happy to receive. so i guess i'll just have to take that route then. thanks for the input xo michelle

Absolutely, I just hope we don't have to wait for the 40th anniversary for TVNZ to show us what they have in the archives. With regards to the Enz with a Bang doco, I got the feeling that Tim was less comfortable with the camera than the others. In the one on one shots with Tim, he rarely looks at the camera or the interviewer. That maybe just a perception thing on my part rather than actual.....

Most overrated guitarist - Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix is really awesome, but i'm sooooo sick of hearing people butchering Little Wing in the Berklee practice rooms. 3. Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying, it's impossible to capture it the same way as the original, but I still feel like they could have gotten a little closer, cause they all just sound neutral, I wouldn't even say they just had the underlying sense of hope and forgot the sadness. On the other hand, thinking I can do it myself might result in another DDIO cover that doesn't even come close to the original, but well i guess i have to put something behind my words now. itll have to wait...

Good luck with it! If your cover of love you 'til the day i die was anything to go by, we're in for a real treat, although I can't see you topping the version Deb uploaded - now that is a version you can compare to any Neil Finn version, especially the classic acoustic one from St. James, Auckland.

picasso fake (Guest) ·
Although I'm a huge Neil and a not so huge Tim-fan, I do agree with you. Without Tim, Woodface would have been a good, but average CH-album. With Tim the album is more diverse and up-tempo.Tim give the album a fresh and uplifting sound. I always liked Split Enz and CH, but only became a huge fan since I heard WWY for the first time on the radio. I couldn't believe my ears! I don't think that giving the Finn song to Woodface has cost Tim dear in recognition at all. Most CH fans now like Tim...

I pretty much agree with what you say here, P.F. I can't really describe the effect that Neil's songs have on me, other than to say that they reach somewhere deep down inside me and wrap themselves around my heart in a way that I haven't experienced with any other songwriter. But having said that, that can be an intense feeling that can get overwhelming in large doses. I don't really feel that Tim adds what Neil is "lacking," but rather he adds a different dimension to the music, that breaks...

WWY is one of my favorites, always has been since I first heard it. I even bought a CD single with 3 remixes on it. But I didn't know until now it was a Tim song. Woodface is my least favorite album, too. It just doesn't seem cohesive to me. I guess because it had the Finn brothers songs sort of thrown in with some CH songs, and the two are like oil and water to me........however, I can't wait for the Finn 2!!!

Yes, it was a great show. I know what you mean, Mari, about the vibe in the venue, but I also wondered if some of that formality and hesitation at the start of the set was just because it's early on in the tour, maybe it takes him longer to get his groove. Or maybe he was still recovering from our lovely winter air. Personally, I thought it was so wonderful to see him in that venue.
