Hey Campus no sadly ABC/Countdown threw out/erased about 80% of their stuff many many years ago, the 'No Bother to me" that some fans have came from our own library...it's just a bad quality video that I own and fading fast. Sad though as so much cool Countdown stuff is gone forever. Some of the Anniversary stuff is good, some can't be used as the sound recording didn't work out....my main fear is because it was filmed by Stratford Productions would it be in the hands of the liquidators too-...

Well, yes, the Catch 22 interview is full of video clips, but it is certainly worth seeing. It cracks me up every time I watch it, especially the way Neil mangles the pronunciation of a major Asian city so as to render what he's talking about completely incomprehensible (the first time I heard him say it, I thought to myself "what??" and at the exact same time Nick said "what??" in the same tone of voice that I was thinking it. LOL!) You'd have to see it. And Paul also has a few choice...

I know Neil doesn't like people ripping off his studio work (He actually joined " Burn & be burned " - an anti-piracy orgainisation at the start of the year ), but I'm still not sure about his opinions on bootlegging. Ripping off fanclub CDs is obviously wrong (and you defenitley can't discuss that here ), but downloading unaccessible (any other way) live shows should be fine... (IMO) as long as you can justify it to yourself (I'm sure Neil wouldn't have a problem with someone obtaining...

Nice post, Peter . (I just thought you might have problems sleeping tonight if someone else didn't compliment you on your fantastic post ). Did anyone ever consider that the people paying that sort of price for dodgy bootlegs of fanclub CDs must already be pretty massive fans & would have probably already brought Neil Finn 's complete back catalogue? Just a thought. I'm sure that thought had already entered everyone's minds, but still worth mentioning... at least I thought it was ... The...

I'd just like to say that I couldn't agree more with Gavin's comments. I live in the Uk and I too have often wondered why the BBC don't release, and make money from, the material that they have. The Sight and Sound, Hammersmith and OGWT footage is all well known. Indeed the Hammersmith stuff is played from time to time on one of their digital radio stations. Good point. I'm also pretty sure 100% of record sales from SAN!TY don't count towards the Aria chart either; they have their own chart (too cool for the rest of the nation ), so it might even be worth looking on the SAN!TY chart for Dreaming , although last time I checked they only had a top 50 singles & albums chart (not a DVD chart, but I couldn't be certain). Chart Update: Aria* haven't updated their DVD chart this week .

Dr. Phil will be doing a show about how to keep New Year's resolutions. I know because I was in the studio audience when it was taped. It's worth a watch. The club is still thriving, and in the case of the fanclub releases it's about the only way to get a hold of this sorta stuff. Without paying a fortune to probably get ripped off on eBay, that is (and NONE of us here would advise that!) It's still very reasonable cost-wise to join, you get your four newsletters a year and often Christmas cards and such-like. Honest and for true, I tried very hard to be completely unbiased when I saw it and I cant see what all the fuss is about. I think that the benefits are multifold. For one, merchandise has in fact been pretty much restricted to the club and to concert sales, so if you're into that, it helps to be a member. Apart from being in a great "family", the most obvious plus are the live CDs which AFAIK are turning more towards the occasional Neil/Finn Bros. Live CD while the Crowdies CDs have run their course. Most of them had a 500 run only, so the copies are very much cherished by those who have them. The area this...

You know SarahBee, I've thought about that many times before. Sometimes I can't muster up the energy or nerve to do it, but when I have, I've never been disappointed. Neil usually takes a half an hour or so to come out and greet people. The crowds are typically smaller, so you'll have a great chance to talk to him and have him sign something if you want usually at the bus or back door.
