I really do love this song, but I absolutely can't see it as a single. I was nonplussed at first, as many of you seem to have been, and I don't think that's the reaction most musicians are going for when they release a single. Then again, Neil often seems to be going for that effect. (P.S. I haven't posted here in forever. Everything is totally different. I might need to lurk around for a while to get used to things again.)

Note: these are my first thoughts. Sorry to say but that is a little too far over to the creative artsy weird side then for my liking...looking forward to the other songs to let this one escape my mind. I do appreciate what Neil is doing by trying to create a song based on a very significant topic and visual and sound but the type of music and sounds of this song is not what I would seek to listen to or want from Neil. I know there are fans here that will say they like this no matter what...

I'm actually going to stump up the cash for the TFF Hurting box set... I think Roland Orzabal is a genius.... BUT I know Crowded House have a lot better stuff content wise in the locker than what TFF have, and a large quota of that hasn't been released at all... It's a just a pity really. I think a LOT of people here would pay for a deluxe box of each of the first four Crowded House albums and say Split Enz True Colours and Time & Tide. Great work Painaporo - I'd hire you to do the art...

And finally, here is the special deluxe edition for Together Alone. Anyone who has the vinyl version of Together Alone knows how much the band was into this gold leaf look. It was removed from the CD release, probably to make more room for the red car carving on the limited surface area of a CD cover. I'm actually not too sure if I even like all the gold leaf. I think it's ends up looking a bit tacky and honestly, despite Together Alone being my favorite album of all time, I think this is...

Well, I actually signed up to stuff.co.nz, so I could ask SS a question. If he answers in the affirmative, I am going to politely tell him what I think of him. It's a moderated site, so I'll probably just get kicked off, even if I am polite. I'm actually surprised I didn't get in the sh!t here, for the comments I made about SS's weight.

I liked that bottle of absinthe remark. I was drunk on that particular drop the 1st time I heard Intriguer. I fell asleep on the couch, thinking, w hat a crappy album! I'm sure I'm not the only one round here to watch the 2 part series, even if you have all been busy with Dizzy Heights . I refuse to read any reviews, until I've heard it myself (broke again!) I don't know the area so I'm not informed enough to comment but with things like that you'd probably be able to work out closer to the day if there is a bushfire in the area. or if you are simply too worried to make the journey, really that one is your call. I seriously doubt the promoters would risk anyones life if there are fires. In the end people should make up their own minds if they are fearful of the...

David Bryne did a gig here with a string quartet and used local musicians from the Alabama Symphony. Evidently that was his "thing" a number of years ago. They were mugging it up a bit, which was amusing (but distracting.) At least classical musicians can generally be counted on to read the music provided. Loving the arrangements of the new songs. Wouldn't mind hearing them on our faves.

As I sit here in a Jersey City bagel shop across the river from the Big Apple and reflect on last night's concert it has occurred to me that, although the strings were absolutely incredible, it was the chemistry between Neil and son Liam that really stole the show. I am in the US and this will not play for me either. This is weird because while my player plays both NTSC and PAL "region free" DVDs with no further hassle, it also lets me play PAL DVDs from other regions (i.e., the discs are not region free) by typing in a code on my remote. This works perfectly fine for me with other DVDs (including a brand new release from the UK - region 2), but not with this one. I get the "Check Region Code" message (as I do with all DVDs from other regions - which...

Reading through the posts here, it honestly sounds like a simple manufacturing fault to me. If the manufacturers scream "region free" yet frenz outside of Australia and New Zealand are having this kind of region troubles, it sounds as if something went haywire at the disc programming and burning stage of production. It might just be the first batch of DVDs OR all the discs could be affected.

How ridiculous to put a region code block on a DVD that is only going to be made available in Aus/NZ. The only point of the region code is to enable staggered release of a DVD across different regions. That makes sense for general release movies etc.- but no sense at all for a music DVD with a limited market - especially one which the record company/distributors have already confirmed will only ever be released in Aus/NZ. Getmusic have clearly screwed up here and should own up to their...

The PAL/NTSC thing shouldn't even be an issue for Blurays. As I understand it, Blurays don't have a PAL/NTSC format, only DVDs. The issue is that both the Blurays and the DVDs are NOT region free. I have plenty of PAL DVDs and they all play fine in my computer and DVD players here in the US.
