Okay, against my better judgement, the only pictures of me that I know of on the web can be found by typing "mac charles" in your search box. If "forever and a day" comes up in the description line, click on that and you should get a look at my ugly mug.

Ok, maybe I am being a bit daft here, but are these different webcasts or just a simulcast being aired an hour later than the other? Cos the link for the KGSR webcast is on the NettwerkAmerica website (or so it seems from the URL). Confused? I am ! http://www.nettwerkamerica.com/neilfinn/kgsr/ Guess I will just tune in at 11 and see how it goes. Re: ABBA and Ally McBeal

Well, I absolutely HATE the music of Abba and think of them as nothing more than writers of catchy, throwaway bubblegum pop. I don't think they excelled as musicians at all - songwriters and arrangers with an acute ability to write a hit single, maybe yes. You can't argue with their success though - they definitely recognised what people wanted and hit the jackpot time after time. What irritates me is the way that Abba are now seen as kind of cleverly kitsch - to me they were always very...

Well,I was extremely overweight as a child and well into my teens, and I know a big part of it was because I ate nothing but fast food burgers most of the time. That being said..it was my CHOICE to eat them, and my CHOICE to be lazy and sedintary at the same time,so I don't blame anyone but myself for getting so heavy. I finally was able to lose the weight about 10-12 years ago.I've kept it off,but I still LOVE a Big Mac every now and again..and if I feel like eating a Swiss Cake Roll or...

Not ironic at all. CH made a small number of quality LPs, and broke up at a peak when NF decided to continue under his own name. Fleetwood Mac peaked in the late 70s (or when Peter Green* was in charge, if you think like me) and Fleetwood, McVie, and whoever else is around continue to milk the name for all it's worth. Where's the irony? * edited to add - I'm referring to the OTHER Peter Green. Paul.

Well, Si, this is really an apples-and-kiwi kind of question. The last incarnation of Fleetwood Mac with Buckingham and Nicks did start about the same time Split Enz was founded, and they had three talented songwriters (when you include Christine McVie). As much as I love Fleetwood Mac, when you compare Neil's output from 1986 to present, Neil just keeps getting better while Mac just keeps touring. Though Lindsay's 1992 solo album is great.

I'm just rereading that last post a few times and trying to figure out what you're getting at. So far I've got that Buckingham puts together an ersatz Fleetwood Mac because he can't sell enough under his own name. NF does the opposite and breaks up CH because he wants to have a shot at producing material in his own name, rather than hiring Paul and Nick to do what Fleetwood Mac is doing. So you say that the outcome is Fleetwood Mac is going strong (by leaning on the name, playing Don't Stop...

Fleetwood Mac is still going strong in Britain because of the British component, strong in USA because of the USA component, and the rest of the world because of a MacDonald style marketing component. I sure someone can quote figures that the CH albums are still selling, the DVD (dreaming) sold well and is still going, and musician around the world cover CH songs regularly (Has anyone covered a Fleetwood Mac song?). Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Fleetwood Mac died when Peter...
