Re: Neil a Grandfather?

Paige ·
I'm going to take a guess and say it's true. EJ Barnes posted a pic on Instagram a few weeks back of Liam's wife and she definitely looked to be pregnant. I'm also going to say Triple M have leaked the news somehow which is terrible! Either way, big congratulations to the Finn's!

Re: Mark Hart

Weightless Astronaut ·
We are talking about a small group of extremely juvenile LB fans who declare themselves to have been avid Fleetwood Mac fans, but who now hate all but Buckingham. They are quite extreme and LB is their deity. For the past 18 months these fools have posted an endless stream of drivel about LB's ousting on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. They attack anyone who expresses a positive opinion about the FM personnel or the post-LB live performances. By association, Neil is considered fair game.

Re: Mark Hart

This is getting further away from our subject (Mark Hart!), but this makes me smile. I am a Fleetwood Mac fan, too, but it cracks me up to see Lindsey fans being characterized as crazies. I'm sure there are some of them who fit that description, but in the 30-plus years I've been an FM fan, I've seen exponentially more Stevie Nicks crazies than I've seen Lindsey ones. Just sayin'. I mean, the woman (with support from Mick) destroyed one of the greatest bands in rock 'n' roll history, so I...

Re: Quick Question About Neil's Tour

BostonFinnFan ·
Some fans have posted their pic with Neil from the Dizzy Heights tour on Instagram, Twitter amd the Facebook page--The Finn Brothers Appreciation Society. And Some fans have even had the setlist from the show autographed as well. I suggest ya bring a CD or photo to have autographed. Neil is very generous with his time when he can do so. So it's worth staying around afterwards to try and connect with him. Have a wonderful time at the show tonight!!!

Re: What should we be looking forward to?

Paināporo ·
I think the forum has slowed down because internet forums have declined in popularity over all. People use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Tumblr to get their fix these days. I love this forum and wish there was more activity, but at least I know it's still the place to go when there's a big piece of Finn news to discuss.

According to EJ Barnes’ Instagram account there was an unanounced full-band show at a commune in Kaipara on January 7. The venue is likely called “Absurdistan Hall”.

Re: "Listen" - new song by Neil Finn

Annie99999 ·
Listen grabbed me on first listen when it was uploaded to Instagram many moons afore. I do hope it touches all souls. The melody the tones the tune all belonged on Out of Silence so it was with great surprise it was included on the Neil/Liam powerhouse album. Those Finns put a twist on my ocd. Ahh love it! As for Lindsey and Stevie Meh! 😂 am so over them sad to say. I doubt I will support the new FM but never say never 😊

Re: Harper’s Song

Shadowman ·
That would be an interesting concept ... I think Harper has a better shot at commercial succes than Elroy. His age, looks and his more commercial sound might appeal to a younger female audience. It seems a good fit with the instagram generation. Elroys songs are pretty leftfield, like them a lot. But hard to find an audience for it. I really like watching them finding their styles, trying different kind of things.

I tweeted about my dog of 17 years who will be put down tomorrow morning, and Neil wrote back. This is a huge comfort for him to even care. We are all blessed to have found such a meaningful artist.

Thank you good folks. I had all last week to prepare, and have heard from all my good friends. I felt very comforted and we all had smiles and laughter that morning. Things are much better now for all concerned. Hope you have a blessed day!

Re: Now exclusive to neilfinn.com

slowpogo ·
I say, good for him. Social media like Twitter & instagram has very little upside in my opinion. Neil has to do what feels right for him. And really, he wasn’t on Twitter very often. I’m personally just fine with his decision. Funny that the article identifies him as “Crowded House frontman” and doesn’t even mention Fleetwood Mac til the end.

Re: Now exclusive to neilfinn.com

Mica ·
I first thought he overreacted, too, but then came his second post about it not being a boycott-like strategic move, but a personal thing. Which is fair enough, I guess its due to a feeling of helplessness. I was a sad about it, because I feared that this will remove all channels of communication between him and the public, but the (I think very lovely) text on neilfinn.com suggests the exact opposite. I mean, newsletters and some means of engaging with us... What more do we want? Personally...

Generous is he

Annie99999 ·
I was horrified and concerned when I noticed Fleetwood Mac fans rubbishing Neil’s good name across Twitter and Instagram. After a couple of weeks I commented on an instigators thread to move on. Big mistake as this only opened up more threads of pain hurt and how much Lindsey will be missed. To cut a long story short, Neil liked my comment which in turn only add more fuel to their despair. Anyway Kristen wrote a letter to Neil of her heartache and pain of Lindsey asked to leave and Neil and...

I agree was a fun packed live instagram show Shame they didn't play Rob Thomas and Santana though I think Liam and Neil would do it perfect justice I'm very intrigued by the rest of the album. The titles leave a bit to the old imagination (thumbs up!)

Cool. The last show had a reshuffeld set. Tour debuts of "Either Side of the World", "Start of Something" and even "Message to My Girl". "Into Temptation" gets its second airing of the tour, "Don't Stop Now" its third. Not on the printed set list, but also played judging from clips on Instagram is "I Got You"

It was a brief broadcast, just Neil on piano - about 15 mins. I didn’t catch the first few mins. But after some instrumental performance he sang a cover of “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” the Shirelles #1 written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and he ended with “Walking On The Spot” and a message that he will do it again soon. Coincidentally, Liam Finn had also broadcast earlier in the day from Roundhead with EJ Barnes on Instagram Live.

Wowee very interesting post on how the words, lyrics are taken, read, misread and mulled over. Great to see I’m not the only one that tunes in to what the meaning behind it all may be ✌️ On Facebook Twitter and Instagram the lyrics are there straight from Neil’s sword 😉 love how it’s there and the crossed out words too. Thanks Team NF and Crowded House for sharing all 👌

Dreamers Are Waiting, Side Two

Watney Sideburns ·
Some people here have remarked on how good Side One of Dreamers Are Waiting is — so much so that they have held off on immersing themselves fully in Side Two. On a first listen, I certainly found tracks 7-12 less compelling than 1-6. Although I quite liked Start of Something and Real Life Woman on first listen, I generally found the backend of the album far less interesting or adventurous. The long sequence of mid-tempo songs didn’t help. Over time, though, I’ve found much to marvel at on...

Neil acknowledged the 30th anniversary of the Woodface release in the Fangradio broadcast on 7th/8th July. He began by chatting while playing a new song he's working on in the background and asking for fan questions before re-airing the Woodface Fangradio broadcast from 4th March. In response to questions he confirmed that Crowded House recorded a version of “Throw Your Arms Around Me” during the Woodface sessions with Ricki Fataar on drums, revealed that "Dreamers Are Waiting” has a title...
