Re: Neil in Minneapolis

Hi all, I also attended the sold out very full "crowded" house at the Fine Line in Minneapolis. We arrived at 7:45pm and the line outside was wrapped around the block, AND it was at least a 10 below zero windchill brrrrrrrrrrr! We were standing shivering in front of the upscale vegetarian restaurant, Cafe Brenda. I peered in the window and saw that infamous profile and spiky hair! Neil and family and friends were all sitting in there eating dinner. Later, some friends I knew came out of the...

you know this is so strange (another twilight zone moment here) as i've been playing xtc's 'mayor of simpleton' on repeat play in my car this weekend. if anyone wants it sung at a wedding, christening, bar mitzvah, birthday bash, etc. this weekend, then i'm your man. incidentally i notice that the elvis costello messageboard has been closed down because of 'uncontrolled offensive language and name calling'. i'm glad we're all nice here .

Interesting that we're already having a discourse about this kind of stuff, and at a (Unitarian) church service I attended on Easter, which included a lot about how many traditional Easter things (eggs, bunnies) actually relate to a Pagan spring ritual, they were doing this thing with runes. You were to pick an egg from the basket, dye it after the service and then the rune (which had been drawn in white crayon) would show up, and you'd look it up on a nearby wall chart to see what your...

I love the ending of the video clip with a loop of Neil and Sharon's silhouette dancing on the twilight beach. Coincidentally I've noticed a b&w anime of this loop is used on just updated nilfun.com today. BTW, am I the only one who widened the eyes to the view of, er, Neil's belly in the clip?

I'll TOTALLY agree with the triple-threat of Seagal/Cruise/Gibson .....yuck-OLA. I used to not like Matthew McConaughey, until I found a police report on-line about him resisting...

Yes, I'm super pleased with how it turned out...very blown away by it really. He captured our likenesses very well while making us just a little bit "bent" or charicaturish. She was pretty miserable and confused towards the end and in my dream of her she was finally content and smiling. These guys became my own secret Beatles. I tried to tell others about them, but got only quizzical looks in return. I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in NZ, the CD booklet has recently been amended to include the songwriting credits. All songs are credited to N.Finn/T.Finn except... 'Edible Flowers' N.Finn/T.Finn/E.Rayner/N.Griggs/N.Crombie 'All The Colours' T.Finn 'Gentle Hum' N.Finn So, in a way that would justify playing the 'Twilight Zone' theme music, it looks like de.FIN.e?'s analysis was just about bang on. Interesting to note that the credit for 'Edible Flowers' has been expanded.
