John, there's also Silver/Gold (I have that at my parents' home, back in Ipswich Qld. Australia) and i think the purple/yellow was the "normal" cover in Australia (it was also the colours on the laser-etched American release of the album, which I also have at the folks' house (nice, thick vinyl... almost warp-proof! Can't believe the amount of votes for Ringo. I do appreciate his role in the Beatles success, and the fact that helped to underpin the group's closeness, as well as providing a steady backbeat for the band. But sheer drumming ability? Never been impressed by him at all. I think he was really a case of "in the right place at the right time". Mind you, he's been there and done it, hasn't he, unlike armchair critics like me. Flicker Probably a lot of the current Judd fans wern't aware of the band when they first released Mental Notes, a few might of only been pretty young...hence one small reason why M.N never was supported by them. P.s-just after I sent the above, I had a small flashback of all the Enz members at Sovereign Hill- (which is one of those recreation Gold rush towns located at Ballarat), the Enz arrived in a horse drawn carriage...the media had camera men everywhere. I seem to recall gold panning with Noel and Hessie.... thinks like that can be fun- and occasionally a bit cheesey. PG

Tim was at the gig Secret. He didn't quit until after the Conflicting Emotions tour. Peter - RE the gold panning, yep, there was a story in TV Week with them on that horse-drawn carriage and snaps of them panning for gold at Sovereign Hill. And Tim has the delightfully cheesy quote, "Actually we're panning for platinum," - referring to hopes for Conf. Emotions sales. Barf!

Thanks, Foo. I had a feeling that I should get real gold in there because of my ear piercings... sometimes they get mad and when I put in real gold, they get very happy. I was thinking the same might be true. So I've just bought a solid gold barbell on eBay and it may come as early as tomorrow. Any other suggestions on what to put on it or not once the gold is in? So far, I've only been using Bactine and saline baths for the most part. Thanks again!

I'm not experiencing anything like the horror stories I hear with scarring and discharge and pain and can't sleep in any comfy position. As for changing the jewelry, I'll be fine. I am not going...

In the doctor's office sat an ancient Chinese man, with a long, long beard. He was dressed in simple but brightly colored robes, silk shoes, and a large gold medallion around his neck. The new Annie Lenox album has a song titled "The Saddest Song I've Got" and it really is. Otherwise, Sarah McLachlan "Hold On" breaks me, knowing that it's about somebody watching their spouse die and preparing for the moment when they need to let go. Johnny Cash's "Hurt" is really poignant. "Turn and Run" used to make me cry, I don't like it anymore. Yeah, Jamie is dead right. There's a 95% chance that NF's Gold Top is a 1969,1970,or 1971 GIBSON Deluxe. The pickups are smaller mini humbuckers, that are set in a metal case, then into a plastic base, and that have another plastic "ring" surrounding them. This was applied to hide factory mistakes/blemishes. The main factor in this particular guitars looks is that it was subject to very extensive use from around 1981 - 2000. Sweat is the major enemy of guitar lacquer...it erodes it over time.
