Re: Tim and Phil - Will we ever see them team up again?

Gordon ·
Does anyone know the story behind the Tim + Phil reunion on Long Hard Road? Phil was doing the soundtrack for this so them working together was initiated by him. All of that was pre frenz forum etc - came from them without fans pushing for it. Pity it all happened without much fanfare - thought Tim showed renewed enthusiasm and Phil lots of new weirdness in the clip for this. The combination of smooth Finn vocals and Fenster grunge was great on this track. These two bring out the best in...

I'm afraid I know very little Schnell Fenster trivia and am not clear on why they used that name. Phil's father served in the North African/Mediterranean front during WWII, so maybe there's truth in that nickname story. Or maybe they just liked the sound of the name and picked it to be absurd -- that's what I always figured. Interesting blindfold test you did with "Mongrel," but please make it clear to your friend that it is just a sketch and may not even be used in the final version. It's...

And whilst the Elwood canal is stinky at the moment and the thrip are on the move, it wouldn't be cool to upset the Postie any further. Hey, what a great idea. Anything would be better than the original version. It would sit well next to "White Feathers" by Kajagoogoo. That might defeat...at least part of the purpose, though. Yet I admit, that was at least part of my mental justification for Griggs over Chunn. EDIT: Essentially what I want to see is a Finn/Judd album, with a group of sidemen that are not mere sidemen, but that have the potential to alchemically alloy themselves together with the two principals to form a mighty and united juggernaut of KA-FUNK!!!! The burgeoning legend of Spilt Zen is barely yet aborning.
