Absolutely awesome stuff!! Has what I'm starting to recognise as the 'Brisbane sound' with those sunny guitar tones. Definitely a Paul Kelly/Beatles sound to it too. I can't decide whether I like this or Garden Varieties more... Keep them coming!
4. Try Whistling This/Spirit if the Stairs. Hard to decide, and feels like cheating cause I partly consider Spirit of the Stairs as CH song, but Neil solo definitely improved it... and when I looking at it, noticed that even 2 of 5 songs wasnt even on official releases...so much about whoever choosed songs for official albums...
Wow ... this is nearly impossible but here goes in no particular order ... and I can't keep it to four songs ... sorry but I couldn't narrow it past the top ten. Songs are posted below ... 1. Lullaby Requiem (may be my favorite Neil Finn song period) 2. Guiding Star (affects me deeply every time I hear it) 3. Blue Hotel (obscure song but brilliant ... oh so brilliant) 4. Chameleon Days (the second half of the song is where it gets me) 5. Widow's Peak (goosebumps) 6. Love Is All That Remains...
I tried but couldn’t do it... Best I can do is top 4 in no order (as I listen to his solo albums right now). Rest Of The Day Off (its almost summer here in Australia and it’s a Saturday and I’m taking today off) Last To Know (fixing lawn sprinklers and listening to my young kids playing) Last One Standing (always a personal fav of mine) Second Nature (album version) Subject to change!!!
This song didn't wow me the first time, I forgot about it for a couple of years until playing it just the other day. It's a gorgeous song. I have a love/hate relationship with the production on One Nil. This is one of the high points. "Feel like an accident waking up Under a bus with my fingers crossed Now is the time we could make it up" This part sounds amazing.
Sinner (Neil’s first ever solo song I heard) I know different (Neil’s last solo song I heard) In My Blood (under appreciated song) Addicted (watched/heard Neil practice this many times at a sound check and couldn’t get it right BUT that night at the concert he hit every note)
Good luck, Trish. I've seen Finns as a loner before, but I never felt alone once the show began, eyes locked on the stage. Have met and made Frenz there too. Maybe there will be a spare ticket at will call for you at the last minute. Fingers crossed. I wish they would play some smaller towns in my region one day! We have a very historic, renovated, vaudeville (with an actual, "colored-person" entrance– not used anymore) theatre called the Lyric, here in Birmingham AL, so if the good Mr. Finn...
I'm expecting there will be a better chance of getting a ticket closer to the day as things do tend to pop up at the last minute, but the sooner I can secure a ticket, the better - fingers, toes, and every hair crossed that someone has a spare! 🙏
I've posted to all three event dates, plus on a couple of buy/sell groups. Even if it's only one ticket I can get, I'll be happy, I just want to see Neil and co live! (I'm too young to have seen CH live; wasn't even born whilst SE were around!)
I've looked at the visitor posts and not much action there as I suspected; in my experience, groups are a lot better for fan interaction. Thanks heaps for the link to the competition, I'll have to try to come up with something creative, but what to say in 25 words or less...! 🤔
Hi Trish, I have 2 tickets to the Saturday of the River Boats Festival, which is now sold out. Neil is playing I the evening. They cost me $170 for the two and off course as FRENZ do I'm happy to sell them for the same as I paid for them. Let me know within 24 hours via private message if you can please. Cheers CK https://www.trybooking.com/book/sessions?eid=319420
Dear Frenz, My DH and I wanted to surprise each other and both of us bought two tickets for the Neil Finn concert on 9 may. This is very sweet but sadly now we have double the amount of tickets. We would...
I have 2 tickets for sale for Neil Finn for the Bristol Colston Hall show on Saturday 26th April (less than 3 weeks away). Some friends aren't able to go now and I'd hate for them to go to waste. Anyone here need any tickets? They're stalls seats D9-D10, £32.50 per ticket (face value). I'm happy to split the tickets if necessary. Here's the seating plan for the Colston Hall: http://stage.colstonhall.org/w...7/Seating_plan_A.pdf Thanks.
I have one spare ticket (first class) for sale because my wife can't make it next Friday (she doesn't know what she's missing). I paid 66 euro for it and I want to sell it for a reduced price of 45 euro's, to make another fan happy. Neil Finn (support act: Tiny Ruins) Friday May 9th 2014 20.00-23.30h Royal CarrÉ theater Amsterdam Seat: Parterre Midden, rij 2, stoel 35 (1st class seat, just behind and above stalls) Price: 45 euro Mail me and we can discuss the details! greetings, Lucien
Last week Todd Rundgren was interviewed on WXRV in Boston about a song he loves. Todd chose "Don't Dream It's Over", and talked about why he loves the song. Interestingly, he also reveals that he has recently been in contact with Neil Finn and they have a collaboration "in the works". Todd's current album pairs him with other artists, and he's working on an additional collaborative album. Hear the interview: http://wrsi.com/riversound-cafe/todd-rundgren/ ...
Please pretty please - hoping someone can help! I would dearly love to go to one of the Zoo Twilights shows in Melbourne on 23, 24 and 25 February 2018 - I'll take any date! Would prefer to get two tickets so I can bring someone with me and not feel like such a loner, but if one is all I can get, I'll take it. I'm trying to do a better job of finding out when my favourite artists are touring *before* tickets go on sale, but missed the boat on this one and I'm heartbroken. Thanks in advance!
