Look closely. The red Telecaster is actually a Yamaha solid body. You’ll also notice Nick is playing a Yamaha BB bass.... I always wondered if it was a Yamaha product endorsement.

Interesting. Bulk discount from Yamaha? Freebies?
Neil must have liked the acoustic enough to hold onto it for a while.
He had a preference for those thin bodied acoustics in the early days of the band - the other one he generally played looks to be a Kramer Ferrington. It's the black one to be seen on their second appearance on The Joan Rivers Show in 1987 and often on that first tour. He was still using it during the Temple Of Low Men tour - see the performance of "Sister Madly" at the State Theatre in Sydney in 1988. His preference seems to shift to the full-bodied Maton acoustics around the Woodface era, though I think he had a Takamine or two for a while - Tim certainly did in the early 90's.
Neil also has that lovely custom built Danny Ferrington acoustic as seen on MTV Unplugged but it's not an instrument he's ever taken out on tour that I'm aware of.

    All times London, UK.
