After some thought, I reckon it would be good they keep the lap steel in future. For some continually.

I agree. Their is harmony with the acoustic guitar and the lap steel. Added the earthy sound to Private Universe. Maybe Neil got tired of playing the acoustic guitar.

I think When You Come might go back to the original keys with Mitchell in the band.
