First of all, I am also slightly obsessed with Distant Sun. I think it's one of the best songs ever written. But as to what its about...hmmm. I think it has a lot to do with journeys, and concepts of time, but as usual Neil Finn has stumped me when it comes to lyrics.

Absolutely brilliant song though.
