Reply to "Crowded House at the Glass House..."

I'm going to go out on a bit of limb, like another poster, and say that except for one thing the show was nearly perfect. The problem for me and the people I went with, was the loudness and aggression of Matt's drumming (more in a moment).

Overall the show was fantastic; loose, generally good song selection, with Neil in good voice. Liam added a nice texture (oh yeah, our group was evenly split on whether Liam's opening act was good, but my son bought Liam' album!).

Regarding the drums, we were on the left side of the stage (some closer to the stage, most of us toward the back) and the drums were waaayy too loud. And just too heavy for some of the songs. That might have been a function of our location, though some people closer to the middle and much closer to the stage than us felt the same way.

At one point Neil asked if it was too loud, which I think meant he realized the drums were a bit too heavy. But the crowded shouted "no" and you can guess how much weight that carries . However, it appeared Neil looked back at Matt a few times with a look that suggested he thought the drums were coming through a bit harder than they should.

With that minor point out of the way. . . the band seemed very relaxed, loose, and the sound a bit more muscular than in days of old.

Final verdict: You MUST see CH during the tour, whatever it takes.

Just $.02.
