Neil & Liam play The Largo at the Coronet, LA tomorrow 3rd May

I just got my ticket!!!  Can't wait to go tomorrow night ... my wife has graciously agreed to watch the kids so I can go ... what a lady!  Not sure what time I can get over there so may not be able to get there early.  Largo strictly prohibits recording so can't record it but will post the setlist and my "review" in the next few days.

Some truly stellar guests at the Neil & Liam Largo show last night, chief among them Neil’s new Fleetwood Mac bandmate Mike Campbell who played lead guitar on a cover of David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream”, and Fleetwood Mac’s 1969 Peter Green era single “Man Of The World”, with Neil on vocals.
Wendy Melvoin came out to play guitar on “Last To Know” and drums on “Wherever You Are.”
Sebastian Steinberg played bass for much of the set, with Sharon Finn taking bass duties for the first corple of full band songs.
Neil and Liam opened as a duo with Split Enz’ “Sweet Dreams”.
Jon Brion guesting on guitar or piano for several songs.
Connan Mockasin on guitar, John Carroll Kirby on keyboards/piano. Matt Eccles on drums and bass.
A Neil turn on bass - so five different bass players throughout the set!
John Carroll Kirby and whistler Molly Lewis opened the show with a 4 song set. Molly returned to add a whistled solo to “Four Seasons In One Day”.
Stevie Nicks was spotted in attendance, as was Attractions/Imposters drummer Pete Thomas.

Printed set list:

Sweet Dreams
Fire In Your Belly
Distant Sun
Meet Me In The Air
Where’s My Room

From memory the set list was adhered with the exception of Pineapple Head, which wasn’t performed.

Largo is a tiny old theatre (about 150 seats) in Los Angeles on the border between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.  Shows there are intimate and usually feature guest appearances by musicians that live in the area or who are in town.

Last night, was incredible; one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The new songs sounded really great - more fleshed out and "lived in".  Neil didn't take requests but played a nice balance of old favorites, new songs, and more obscure ones.

I didn't see Stevie Nicks there but having Mike Campbell join in for a couple of songs was fabulous. Neil spoke about how he and Mike are learning all the old Fleetwood Mac songs together and then they played the incredible Fleetwood Mac song "Man of The World", which interestingly sounded like a Neil Finn song last night.  Jon Brion also performed with the band; I'm a huge fan of Jon Brion so this was special for me.

There were a ton of delights including "Wherever You Are", "Last To Know", and "Private Universe".  And the crowd seemed to really enjoy the new songs and Neil said that the new album is about to be announced so look for that soon.

Last night's show was really fantastic and reinforced in my mind just how much of a mega-talent Neil is and how lucky we are to have him continuing to perform and write new songs no matter what the setting.

I didn't notice Stevie Nicks there last night at Largo.  Are you sure she was there?  If she was there, I'm surprised she didn't perform a song with Neil and Mike.

Perhaps they are waiting to appear together at the "Benmont Tench & (hopefully!) Friends" show at Largo on May 24.

I think she was sitting a couple rows in front of me.  Her group was brought in after the lights dimmed and they came to bring them out before the encore.

I noticed a half row (in row seven) right behind me that was empty during the encores.  I wonder if this is where they were.  Would have been cool to see her sing a FM song with Neil.
